- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - A low and distinct hum floated through the atmosphere. The musical notes rhythmically making sense, and petite feet followed the sound. Blond, wavy hair whipped around the fair complexion of a nineteen year old girl. She seemed pleasant. Her eyes were a bright and alluring hazel that sparked as she captured the sun's ethereal light. Her delicate body swayed in time with her humming, and though she seemed fragile she moved with such delicate ease that her compact dancer's body emphasized her lines. Black jodhpurs grappled at her lower torso, and made her slender body look rather enticing. A pale pink t-shirt was snug on her body, and as she twirled through the barn she felt young again. She smiled at the figures of horses that blurred past her vision, and she stopped herself before she became dizzy. She was elegant and sort of refined, but looks were always so deceiving. Whilst the elegant part may have been true, Lauren was a little off from refined. She was a classy lady... Refined seemed better suited for queens and kings that held royal bloodlines. The humming had ceased as she gazed around the stables which had been unusually calm for this time of day. The afternoon hours always seemed to be the busiest, but as she walked through the aisle way, she only found herself smiling every so often to a few stable hands here and there. She glanced to her left to see that the stall that had once held her stallion was vacant she strode outside with purpose. She did give a few dance steps here and there, tensing every muscle that needed to be with expertise. Dancing was only a hobby, and had once been her life, but then horses she had been guided towards with the faithful hand of her father. He trained Thoroughbreds for a living, and it seemed to be in Lauren's blood that she fell in love with the hot-headed creatures. Lauren pulled back her hair into a pony tail, and as she did so heard the faint but familiar whinny of her stallion. The angered voice tainted the calamity of the spring day, and her heart lurched within her chest. Fear ached within her body as there was once again silence. Alert and focused, she allowed her eyes to casually dart about, searching frantically through the pasture that lay a good distance ahead of her. Another whinny of rage filtered through the air, and the urgency within the girl became clear. She surged forwards with power and strength, her agility taking her far into the greenery that kept distance between her and the stallion she loved. Her black paddock boots dug into the earth, pushing her forwards with ease as she ran. Her strides lengthened and as sweat began to bead upon her brow, she clambered up the white fence and dropped with an inaudible thud into the pasture. Doctor! Lauren managed to breathe, and the anxiety swelled within her. She had required that her blood bay Thoroughbred occupy a pasture by himself due to his temperament as well as hate for stallions in general. Her eyes shifted around, trying to capture the coat that she knew all too well.
There was silence again, save for her shallow breathing as she maneuvered herself through the pasture. And then a whicker came from the right, she turned on her heels, and ran towards it. As she did so, the sound of rapidly approaching hooves were headed her way. Pivoting on her heels once more, she watched the small incline of a hill intensely. The figure of her 16.3 hand high stallion began to materialize and the fear left her immediately. No one had put their own horses at risk. She felt relief wash over her as the stallion proceeded its gallop towards her with passion. In his brown eyes reflected her far off body, but quickly overwhelmed his gaze. His eyes were filled with a mixture of rage, passion and joy. His muscular body slowed to a halt in front of her. His nostrils flaring as he nudged her. Lauren exhaled the breath in which she had been holding in, and her worried eyes scanned his body. There was no evidence of blood or anything that told her of a fight that had been ensued. However, trotting along the edges of another pasture was a gelding that seemed unfazed by her stallion's outbursts. Doctor Love gave an arrogant snort towards him before focusing on Lauren. She stroked him, allowing her slender hands move over his slick body. His muscles were tensed with energy, and she sighed as she shook her head. What a day to pick to ride him. Doctor nickered towards her, and Lauren only smiled as she walked away. He fell into step beside her, refusing to let her out of his sight. When the duo reached the gate, the loyalty and care the stallion had shown was something that they had always known. Lauren lifted the halter onto his face, but had lowered it so she could easily fasten it. She led him into the bar where with nimble and skilled hands tacked him up with experience. A helmet was secured to her head, and was out of sheer safety rather than trust. She trusted Doctor, but she knew his antics better than anyone. He could strike out without warning and without reason, and would be side-lined by fury. She grabbed a lunge line, and led him to the arena. He was silent for the most part, but that arrogance in which he displayed captured the attention from other stallions that had beckoned him. Doctor had given them what for, and the majority of the stallions had lowered their head in submission. Doctor held a bad reputation, but Lauren would stick by him through and through. His quivering muscles clearly were anticipating a ride, and he began to prance out of excitement.
Lauren stood in the farther end of the arena and Doctor walked around her in a circle. As he encircled her at a slow pace, he began to grow antsy. He threw up his head and stopped to paw at the ground, however Lauren urged him onwards. Behave. She chided him with a stern voice, and Doctor settled down only slightly. His walk seemed rather quick, but Lauren decided it had been better than the other day. He had gone from a walk to a canter in a blink of an eye, and wasn't having being listened to. He wanted to do what he wanted, but Lauren wasn't going to let a thousand pound animal boss her around. She was quick to correct him, and from then on there were only a few bumps in the path. A horse that could teach her, and she could teach the horse in return was ideal, and Doctor always had something up his sleeve to surprise Lauren with. He was always testing her, but the amount of devotion to the girl was always apparent within those blazing eyes. Lauren clicked her tongue, asking him for a trot. Doctor's body lurched forwards at the chance at a faster pace, and was more than happy to oblige. His trot was still quick, and she began to hum a slow rhythm in which she wanted. She had a tendency to hum to her stallion when his gait was quicker than she wanted it to be, and like all the times before, Doctor gave a belligerent snort before hesitantly following what the humming directed him to do. Good boy, Love. She praised him, and Doctor gave a whicker of happiness. All he wanted was to make her happy, and having heard those words made him beyond content. Upon Lauren's command, the stallion began his lengthy canter, but Lauren saw the want and need to gallop. Galloping was within his blood, and Lauren frequently galloped him, but due to her height couldn't race him. And with Doctor's temperament as well as loyalty to the girl he kept a watchful on, he refused to even allow another onto his back. No, that would never happen in a life time. Lauren relaxed her posture and he returned to a walk, and she smiled at him. He then cut through the center of his man-made circle, and approached Lauren. She offered her hand, and without hesitation, pressed his muzzle against it. He gave a gentle nicker as he did so, and Lauren smiled pleasantly up at him. There's my good boy. She murmured as she removed the lunge line, and hooked it onto one of the rails. Lauren let down her stirrups, and mounted onto the back of Doctor. He had settled, and though he still had energy to boot was quieter than he had been previously. She smooched him into a trot, and Doctor moved with fluidity in any gate. Like owner, like horse. She sat astride him, and they moved like they were one. Following his outside shoulder, she rose with him, keeping the pace in which she wanted. His slow trot and naturally arched neck made him look elegant, and his conformation was grand. Doctor had his faults, but all horses did. Lauren moved around the arena with a small smile upon her pale, pink lips. She gently squeezed his side, and Doctor responded immediately. Lauren had a reasonably sensitive horse, but hell, he could fight back and give her a good battle. She always won him over... Well, for the most part. Lauren released everything within her head, and focused solely upon the horse was in tune with. The world around her a blur and everything faded into a tuned-out peacefulness. The only sound was the rhythm of her horse, and their breathing. And my, what a sound. Vlad had seemed quite stressed lately, over the past week he just seemed to be jammed packed with thoughts of the past which always drove him mad. Everyone had those things that truly irritated someone, almost instantly like a light switch flicking on and off. It was just that easy. The past and then the thoughts of love were the things that would set him off quicker than lightning flashing through a stormy sky. The words of his mother screaming and then the faithful nights his father thought his wife was having was quite the opposite. It torn that man apart, even with his only son Vladimir just was not enough to save his father from the torture and condemnation that his mother had put his father through, if one heard that they would truly understand the fear of love that this man carried with him.
The days were growing long now that Spring had arrived and it was beginning to make Vlad think more and more of his past. He would surely need to get more riding in which his energetic mare would have no issue with aiding her companion in. Vladimir had been working all day, fixing stall doors, loose nails, the works. He enjoyed the hard physical labor or any for that matter like an addiction to a drug, for at times he almost could not stop himself from working out or working hard. It seemed as though he needed it to keep his sanity in line, that and Hypno his mare who really seemed to keep him in line. Grunting as he hammered in the last nail, at least for the day work was over for him and now he needed an escape one that had four legs.
The man was sweating profusely and just continued due to the temperature and the work coming together. The gray tank top he wore was drenched and now had turned a much darker shade than before. As he inhaled deeply taking the long, last drink from his water bottle he tossed it in the trash cans right outside of the barns. The worn dark brown boots clicked along the aisle as he walked calmly and without fault toward the only female in a sense he could ever allow himself to be close to. The stocky, yet built mare stuck her skull from the stall and eyes gazed curiously toward Vlad. He smirked grabbing from the worn jean pocket and pulled out a sugar cube well what used to be one, a few chunks now lay in his palm as the mare's muzzle went wild toward the man's hand to quickly lick all the sugary substance from his body as her tongue had begun to rise over his wrist.
Vladimir chuckled as he pulled away from the sugar crazed being, as the large, rough hand grasped the purple lead rope he opened the stall with the other hand and clipped the halter and lead rope together that matched in color. Vladimir slowly lead the prancing mare from her stall, closing the door as those large hindquarters exited the range of the door. She was truly a stunning animal, her coloring is what was most unique about Hypno and she surely flaunted that stocky, yet exquisite Quarter horse figure. As he lead her toward the tack room he tied the rope to a hook as she stood patiently waiting for him to return. A southwestern purple, black, and white saddle pad was placed then followed by a light brown western saddle. As hands grasped the straps needed to snitched up the saddle, a very warm breath was felt in his left pocket as a curious lips were trying to get into the sugar like a small child after cookies from the cookie jar.
Vladimir gently pushed away the beautiful head and then finished, slowly removing the halter after grabbing the light leather bridle with a snaffle bit placing it all at once upon her head. Shifting his weight he yawned, as he grabbed the reins and placed the lead rope and halter on the hook in return. Vlad flipped the reins over her head and while she pranced turning away form him while he tried to mount, grunting he spoke. "Eh lassy calm yer self." The Scottish brogue thick, and charming as well. The mare stopped on a dime and allowed him to finally mount. Situating himself into the seat he gently tapped her sides and she lunged forward quickly into a trot. He smirked shaking his skull, he would never be able to rid Hypno of her incredible amount of energy.
As they made their way from the bar and now toward the arena, another was already there. Eyes narrowed to try and get a better look, a shrill whinny was expressed by Hypno as her nostrils clearly found this was a stallion. She was prancing and flaunting herself just for him until Vlad pulled gently on the reins she quickly stopped the antics. As they approached the arena, he gently unlatched the gate and walked pushed Hypno forward into the arena. Then shut the gate behind them for she turned very quick, Hypno and him had entered on the opposite side that the two were cantering on, as they began to come around again he held Hypno with a craned neck as her stocky bodice waited for the two to ride by and they would follow suit. He saw slightly what her appearance was and the tight, sleek clothes did portray her body features well. Though the helmet slightly obscured his vision from clearly seeing her face.
Vladimir wondered if she was friendly or if she would be stuck up as some of the riders here were. Vlad tilted his skull as his muscles flexed holding Hypno in place, and sweat rolled over the triceps, and biceps along his traps and arms. A grin rolled over his lips, as he still had not shaved but it was not like grizzly Adams or something. He whistled lightly, not to be demeaning but to capture her attention is what he had hoped, making sure it was alright if they were in here with them for some time. Hypno's ears alerted and tossed her head slightly as they approached toward them, Vladimir waiting patiently for a response he had hoped he would obtain.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The three beated gait hadn't ceased for quite some time. Lauren had been settling into his strides, and perfectly serene. She belonged in the saddle, and if she could, would spend days on end. Doctor wouldn't have any complaints about that. He'd do anything for the precious cargo upon his back. He tugged at the bit, but was met with the immediate response of a tug back. Lauren's brows furrowed as she gazed down upon the neck of her stallion, and noticing he wasn't going to press the situation further, she looked up again. Lauren could barely make out the colors or shapes as they proceeded their canter. She could feel Doctor move below her, changing leads every so often. Lauren had been thinking to herself that when he turned five she would start training to jump the stallion. He would probably have plenty of scope and height, and well he was a fearless thing anyway. Besides, at the age of five his bones would be reasonably developed. She exhaled once she noticed that Doctor had begun to tense up, and his once fluid gait began to falter. Sorry, Doctor. Lauren whispered towards him, and as soon as she began to breathe again, Doctor's gait returned to normal. He was being reasonable today, and was possibly making up for his temper tantrum he threw yesterday. Lauren had been pretty upset with him, and Doctor didn't like that. She always left when he upset him. A soft whicker was emitted from the stallion as he began to get lazy. Lauren gave an encouraging cluck of her tongue, and picked up Doctor's left shoulder as it had begun to recently drag. Doctor pulled at the bit again, and Lauren had no hesitation in pulling back and tapping him the shoulder. She had to remind him time and time again who was boss. Both were fairly stubborn, but Doctor mainly gave in... For the most part. Lauren's breathing was even, and as she noticed that the repetition of their canter began to bore Doctor, she mixed it up a little. She made him do flying changes, and perform numerous dressage movements. Dressage helped him with his footing, and did him well on the track. She mentally counted the sixteen steps in the piaffe before returning to their cantering. She made sure Doctor didn't cut corners, and also made sure that he was mentally stimulated. She performed everything with a small smile, as well as with supple hands. Doctor tossed his head up as he noticed the on-looking stallions. Lauren snapped out of the blurred world, and saw the world now crystal clear. Using her inside leg, she pushed him towards the rail, and slowed him to a trot. A very small punishment that Doctor didn't quite appreciate. He gave a buck, and that had been his testing Lauren. Expertly, Lauren corrected the action as though she had been expecting it by turning him in a small circle before proceeding at a trot. Doctor nickered bitterly before giving into the commands of his girl.
Lauren smiled and gave him a good pat on his neck once he did so. He'd get praise when praise was necessary. It wasn't long afterwards she had turned into that blurred world of hers. Nothing existed and nothing was seen clearly. Her hazel eyes held that far off and distant look whilst she remained completely alert and focused on Doctor. It was only moments later that another pair had entered the arena, however Lauren had heard nothing. She hadn't even picked up on the mare that had clearly captured the attention of her stallion. Doctor's ears flicked backwards, unsure if the mare was in the arena, but once turning a corner and his back towards them, it was then that he heard the distinct sound of a whistle. A whistle that usually a human made and not a equine. Without warning, Doctor did a roll-back on his haunches, and Lauren immediately snapped out of it. In the far end of the arena was a mare and its rider, and though Lauren had tried to attempt to see who was there, her attention was then ripped away from them when Doctor surged forwards. His ears were pinned against his ears. The animosity towards this older man was clear within his body language. His muscles were tensed and were coiled up as though at any moment they would release and send him hurtling through the air to attack him. His once calm and content brown eyes now were blazing with ferocity. He held such savagery in a matter of minutes, and as he galloped towards the pair, he wanted to only hurt the man. Men he couldn't stand. They took Lauren away from him. He had done his fair share in making grown men bleed, and certainly this one was just going to be another on his list. Lauren sat deep into the saddle, and for the most part looked reasonably calm. The temperamental stallion beneath her was infuriated, and Lauren tugged back on the reins with force. Easy boy... She offered her voice, and Lauren wasn't surprised when he didn't respond. She did only feel his muscles quiver in a response, and knew that Doctor's blinding fury had come upon him. She looked so unearthly calm that it was unnerving. Her eyes couldn't even make out the features of the man before her, and knew that something had been done to cause such a commotion that Doctor would have been sent to this extent of blinded rage.
Doctor was strides away from the man, and even their approach towards them had only sent Doctor spiraling downward and deeper into the pit of hatred. Lauren's feminine muscles tightened and gave a rather good tug. A tug that had jolted the stallion backwards and he was dazed. Lauren cleared her throat, and her breathing was a little off. Doctor's breathing was low and shallow as well as rapid. His eyes however were glued to the duo that was now pretty much right beside them. Lauren looked up apologetically at the older man. His features were astoundingly rugged and masculine, but she didn't stare at him too long. She cleared her throat, and a small blush began to form on her pinkened cheeks. I'm sorry about that... Doctor well... He gets that way sometime. She gave a very feeble smile before turning her gaze towards the stallion who was sniffing the air around the mare. He was now more interested in her, and was still shocked at the tug by the girl. Lauren calmed down and smiled genuinely at him. That look of friendliness entered her bright face. Well, I'm Lauren... Sorry we had to meet this way. She spoke evenly, and her voice was soft. She observed him from up close this time, and then dropped her gaze once Doctor began to act up again. She tapped his shoulder blade firmly, and through the touch Doctor somewhat shied away. He tugged at the bit and pawed at the arena's turf. He was unhappy that Lauren was conversing with a man, but he couldn't necessarily reach up and give him a bite or two. Not when he knew that Lauren was upset with him... Again. He gave a submissive huff and a grunt before turning his smoldering eyes elsewhere. He had to distract himself somehow, and to keep himself out of trouble. Doctor gave a gentle nicker towards the mare, and though he still looked savage as well as hateful he couldn't act out of spite. He lifted his head arrogantly, but Lauren corrected it instantly. Now now... I'll have none of that. There may be a mare in the arena, but that is no excuse. She mumbled incoherently towards the stallion and was satisfied that he began to calm down somewhat. His muscles were still tensed, and he was definitely displeased with Lauren, but he listened for the most part. She gave another apologetic smile that reached her hazel eyes towards the man, and glanced away hoping that he hadn't felt that Lauren and her beast would possibly be dangerous. Though Lauren's body posture was fairly welcoming and inviting, and her bubbly personality made her different than some of the stuck up riders she bumped into here. In life if it's one thing that Vlad has learned over his twenty six years of life was that, life has a funny way of doing things. Whether it be finding your true love, introducing a new friendship, finding an enemy one was not aware of. Yes life was certainly an oddity indeed, for no one would ever figure it out only the almighty One knew of life itself. Therefore it left the mortals here on Earth to live their lives trying to figure it all out, when Vladimir finally realized one just needs to live life the way they want and in time things appear when you least expect it. Though learning of this he also had grown to be wary of this, sure he was living his life to it's full potential as far as what he wanted out of it.
Though he had grown cautious of it because it could one day present him with the true fact that he did fall in love. This scared the heck out of this man more than dying or any other fear he may have. Nothing seem to even come close to how much he feared love. They say the person you become is all about how one was raised and he differed with that quite a bit. Sure things would influence you but you had the power to change it all if one wanted and then some things being so traumatic would inflect fears upon one without their want or ability to keep it away from them; it just becomes you over time. These thoughts were brought on by where his gaze had fallen which was on the fluent movements of the stallion, as him and his rider rode as one.
The muscles, each step, the way that horse and rider moved had always fascinated him throughout his equestrian life. Smirking lightly as the stallion began to grow aware of not only Hypnotic but also himself. Indeed Vlad did allow himself to become alert to the situation but he believed that this lady knew how to handle her equine, one just knew when a pair had been together for awhile. As he shifted in his saddle and turned Hypnotic so that she was facing this stallion, to not allow her to be alarmed by any actions that took place. The stallion lunged, and played with his bit, pawing the Earth in his opinion somewhat showing off to Hypnotic though also Vlad could sense a dislike between him and this stallion.
Vladimir eyed this equine carefully watching his movements, the muscles in his thighs tensed alerting Hypno in case they would need to bolt to get away form the pair. As they approached and the female pushed the stubborn and aggressive stallion forward toward himself and his mare. This rider knew how to show this stud who was boss and Vlad took a liking to this, he liked seeing riders who knew the insides and outs about their mounts. Now as she approached his attention became more focused toward the lady, her eyes stunning and her features delicate. Angelic one could say but Vlad also having his overly sexual thoughts also thought of other such naughty things that would not be expressed or shown.
As he diverted his mind when her voice spoke, and his attention focused upon her face. The small apology for her stallion Vlad chuckled lightly and spoke. "Ah it's alright lassy you put em in line." The charming, Scottish brogue ringing from his voice box. As Hypno began to prance in a sense back and fourth for she did wish to move and would do just about anything to keep herself busy when Vlad was not paying attention. Her body lip began to flip back and fourth and her curiosity also was sent toward the Stallion after his whinny toward her. Those mocha eyes watching him as she tried to pull her muzzle closer toward the stud. Vladimir then listed once more to the soft voice spoken by this female.
"Lauren, well it be a pleasure meeting you. I am Vladimir or Vlad." His gentleman side had come out more today than he rather deviant side. Though he did not think that is was not impossible for that blunt, sex driven self to appear right out of the blue. "Life is comical in the way it works itself out." Commenting on what she had apologized for after stating her name. This female seemed innocent but still a classy woman he felt as though he was standing before a saint. Well wasn't that something a sinner and a saint meting for the first time. He chuckled maybe this stallion knew that about him, it would have been a funny statement though she did not know him enough to be able to catch on to it. After glancing to the stallion he looked back to Lauren.
"It seems that both of our equines get antsy about the other." Sending a handsome grin in her direction. Vladimir could not help it he had to flirt, it was almost instinct in his nature you know? Something that one just could not stop no matter how much they tried. Then gazing upon Lauren he spoke. "Would you mind if I worked her just a bit, then we can be on our way. I wouldn't want your stud getting all tided up in a fuss just because another lads stolen yer attention." Grinning wide as he spoke this for Vladimir found this statement to be comical and he could only hope that she did as well. If not he would quickly find something to replace that fall with something better or so he hoped.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The word love could make the nineteen year old freeze in whatever she would be doing. And that word alone could damn near knock her off a chair or make her choke on words or food. Lauren had never truly seen a functioning relationship. Her parents had split when she was a young child for her mother had told her father something along the subliminal lines that his childhood dream of training Thoroughbreds was nothing but a bunch of folly, and idiotic-ness for a grown man. She recalled when her father had quoted her mother, constantly asking him when he was going to grow up, but that had never been given the answer she was apparently looking for. Lauren had always been close to her father ever since she was out of the womb, and so her mother had left a note stating that Lauren was in her dad's entire custody, packed her belongings and left. She never heard much from her mother. It was like she never existed to be honest. At first there were the weekly letters which basically confessed her mother's minimal concerns for her daughter. Soon the letters and birthday gifts began to drift off, and then there was none. Last Lauren heard was that her mother had eloped and married a very wealthy man. The idea of that made her skin crawl, and especially knowing that her mother had granted this man numerous children made her skin crawl. Her mother - from what she had been told - was a very self-centered and materialistic woman. With her father's dreams, her mother's need for those expensive items had thrown all her hopes out the window. Lauren was nothing like her mother... Well, she had supposedly inherited one thing from her... She was quite the charming flirt, and could easily enrapture the attention of any male suitor possible. So needless to say, her classy appearance was rather a diversion whilst she teased men into their minds ran wild with fantasies. Lauren never went far all too often, but she knew that some day there was the possibility she'd find a man that would be up to her father's standards as well as her ideal and possible spouse. She knew she was rather young to think about settling down, and her father had told her over and over that if he didn't approve of the man, he'd grab his loaded shot gun and chase him out the door. A small smile formed on the pale pink lips of hers, and those hazel eyes looked dreamy as she thought back to the days where skinned knees were her only worry. She wasn't timid of love, but could endear it if it came along. After all, the majority of things were beyond her control. If it happens, it happens. Lauren couldn't control destiny or fate... She was just along for the ride.
Lauren glanced down upon Doctor as he shifted below her, and gave a harsh whicker into the air. The displeasure dripped from his gruff vocals, and Lauren merely rolled her eyes. If her father didn't scare off any man she found intriguing, Doctor could do it twice as fast as any old shot gun could. As far as Doctor was concerned, he had already staked his claim upon Lauren. The insolent fools that had attempted to court his blond haired girl would instantly be baffled and frightened as Doctor would act nice to them, and then he'd give them what for. He'd chase them far and away from his rider, and return collected and calm whilst they would peal out of the parking lot. Lauren had never found a man that Doctor would take to, but then again, his antics would never change. Older men were one of his main dislikes as well as stallions, and that was not about to change. Then again, no man had ever attempted to spend time with Doctor, and perhaps that was his biggest issue. You had to meet him, and keep coming back after he chased you off, otherwise he'd hate you for the rest of your life. He was intelligent, and Lauren had met her match with this blood bay. She loved him and he was a loyal companion to her even when everyone had turned their backs on her, he was still there. Lauren patted her fondly, remembrance clear in her easy to read features. She was close to an open book, but she could disguise any thoughts of hers - whether they are rather naughty or clean - they went without being noticed. Lauren was pulled out of her thoughts with the guidance of his Scottish tones. Her hazel eyes flitted to his masculine face, and she smiled at him. Wouldn't be a responsible rider if I didn't know how to. Given the chance, he would've plowed you over. She gave a nod, but there was a sense that she may have been serious but she wasn't letting onto that. She didn't want to scare the poor man off anyway. Her eyes then fell to his horse, watching as she shifted to keep herself busy. Doctor turned his head towards the mare and forced a snort through his nostrils. As his nostrils flared, he took in her scent, and nickered towards her quietly. When she attempted to reach him, Doctor hesitantly filled in the space. He touched her muzzle and gave a squeal of excitement, and Lauren shook her head. Don't you dare get carried away now, boy. Lauren directed towards Doctor, and he immediately shaped up at the stern warning. He arched his neck and gave a quiet huff before allowing his head to bob. He wasn't the type of horse to stand around for long periods of time, and even within the few minutes of being stopped; he was already showing the signs of wanting to move. He constantly moved his head, and his legs, sending the very clear signals that he wanted to move... And he wanted to move now.
Lauren smiled at the man once more, and upon hearing that very intriguing voice of his, he had her undivided attention. She didn't want to seem rude to anyone she may have been conversing with at the time, and this was no different. Nice to meet you as well, Vlad. She said politely, and though his name wasn't accented with that Scottish lilt, it seemed exotic to Lauren. She refused to get carried away, and remained composed under Vladimir's steady gaze. At his next comment, she gave a soft laugh. Don't I know it. Life - Lauren had to admit - enticed her beyond everything. She never knew what tomorrow was going to bring, and that sense of unpredictability she fed off of. It mixed up everything every so often, and she enjoyed it. Lauren looked down at her mount as he began to stir. He shifted himself closer to the pair, and just as Lauren was about to say something, Doctor took a very small interest at the rider upon her back. He refused to inhale his scent, but rather observed him with those flaming eyes of his before the disappointment came along. He wasn't afraid of him. Doctor stomped his hoof into the ground, and let his ears pin back. The tension in his muscles returned, and Lauren gave him a firm tap on the shoulder. It was like a ripple effect as each strand of sinew his body began to loosen, and Doctor went back to his impatient actions. She nodded in silent agreement at Vlad's next statement about their horses, and she didn't more proof than what was already laid out in front of her. She did capture that grin, and with the small smile on her lips, it slightly broadened at the sight of it. Then again, Lauren wasn't easily dragged into the games men often played... Sometimes she played their games even better. Lauren gave a gentle laugh as he spoke again, and her smile reached those eyes and they smiled at him as well. Please, go right ahead. And he'll get used to it sooner or later. After all, he's got a beautiful rider. Her smile was playful and easy as she gave another free laugh. Her eyes sparked with laughter and were seemingly grinning with an unknown and mysterious glint to them. Perhaps that known mischievousness was coming about, but before he analyze it or even catch it well enough to think about, she squeezed the sides of Doctor. He responded and was grateful at the chance to move, even if it were just a walk. Lauren gave a very small, somewhat unnoticeable wink at Vlad's direction due to the brim of her helmet that shadowed her features. Doctor played with the bit, trying to get his rider's attention placed back onto him. The testosterone here was irritating to Doctor, but then again he was doomed to a life destined around other males. Vladimir was very curious toward her stallion he seemed to angry, so aggressive toward the male gender. Why was he like this? It was almost like a challenge or a puzzle in a sense to figure out why this equine disliked his own gender, Vlad almost wanted to admit that he wanted to figure it out work to make the stallion like him. Or if anything at least be at ease around him but would it ever change him? Vlad would never try to break his spirit or harm him in any sense in his plans to try and earn the stallions trust but possibly it would work. Start slow and then maintain that speed never push anything on an animal let them come to you. Allowing his attention to shift from the stallion to Lauren so that he was not rude, he listened to her and gave a nod of his head and a grin. She was absolutely correct and he was setting her in high standards in his mind which also made it more difficult for him to ever be with her. You see a woman such as Lauren before him would never fall for a man like Vlad, she had to much going for her and Vlad just wasn't fit for the part or at least in his opinion of course.
Now shifting his weight in his saddle and listening more to the comments she made in reply to his earlier words the shrill whinny of her stallion made him chuckle. Theses two were like kindergarten children playing with one another which this touch of the nose had made Hypnotic want to move toward him, and Vlad of course gently tugged on the reins at her advancement toward the stallion and his stunning rider. Those green eyes watched her eyes sparkle from underneath the helmet and he smirked wildly well she just brought the kid out in him didn't she? Oh he did not favor this at all. Turning his attention after she finished speaking back to the stallion he stood up somewhat in his stirrups and grabbed out a sugar cube and as the pair had begun to walk he tossed the cube to the ground right before the stallion. Sitting back down he knew this sugar cube would have his scent and it also would be very tempting for the stallion to take it, if anything even if the stud choose not to ingest it he would began to learn that Vlad meant no harm or so he had hoped.
"I thank you, and yes I could not agree more with your compliment." With a charming smile to match the small wink she gave him Vlad leaned forward slowly and with just the slight press of his heels into her sides Hypnotic was off, that Quarter horse looked as if she was just shot form a cannon she moved so quickly, right into a gallop she went and Vlad did not pull back on her for he knew this is what she had been wanting for quite sometime. Vladimir held tightly as she made a quite turn and with a show stopping reigning move she turned on her hindquarters with ease it was stunning with her neck thrown out and the fluent movement she made. Vlad allowed her to race back to where the pair was but some distance away this time not wanting to spook the stud, and with another turn and another lap Hypnotic was tossing her skull and one could tell that was her true passion was to run. A quarter horse in a Thoroughbred body. As they waltzed back toward them he smirked and spoke. "I swear I almost don't believe she's a Quarter." Chuckling lightly as she tossed her head, and backed up and moved forward like she was dancing for them.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - Lauren smiled as her mount began to move, but as soon as he moved, the blood bay Thoroughbred came to an abrupt halt. The small smile upon her lips faltered and fell away as she stared with shock and surprise at Doctor. A very small object had been hurtled through the air, and though Lauren couldn't exactly see what it was, she was gaining in curiosity. The emotion flitted onto her features as she analyzed her stallion. His eyes and head had been turned in the man's direction, and Lauren had captured a glimpse of him rising to stand in the stirrups and reach into his pocket. Once Vladimir had settled back into the saddle, she saw his arm extend out, and throw something. The movement had caught Doctor off guard, and for a moment the stallion was stiff and unsure. As the sugar cube landed directly in front of his hooves, he hesitantly let his muscled neck lower. His black mane cascaded down his neck, and he sniffed at the treat. The sugar cube reeked of the musty odor the man obtained, and was mixed in with the scents of horses that Doctor didn't seem to recognize. His nostrils flared and allowed his tongue to roll over the treat. Sugar cubes were one of his favorite treats, and so it looked delectable as well as irresistible. Despite the fact that it was overwhelmingly radiating the scent of the man, he ingested it easily. The sugar cube was pleasing to his palate, and he gave an ignorant snort as he glanced up at the skies to pass it off as a reward from the Higher Power. Lauren's jaw muscles had tightened only slightly, but once her stallion had eaten the treat, she was about to keel over from the utter shock that coursed through her body. She did, however expose a beaming smile that was easy on the eyes. That exuberance of explicit joy shown upon her face made her feel rather proud of Doctor. She gave him a pat on the shoulder, and Doctor whinnied at her touch, easily feeling the happiness that rippled through her body. He tossed his head before progressing into a walk once more, and acted as though nothing had happened. As Doctor walked, Lauren turned her pleasing smile towards Vlad, smiling her thanks to him for Doctor had made it rather hard to thank him verbally seeing as he was eager to get away from him now. He wanted Lauren's attention all to himself, and one could definitely call Doctor jealous and he was. He didn't take to having her friends taking her away from him. It made him aggravated the next day, and he held grudges, but the girl upon his back he had a soft spot for that was clear. Doctor could never stay mad at Lauren for long, and would tag along with her like a love-sick and oversized puppy. The stallion was undoubtedly devoted to the slender and fragile, and would lay his life on the line any day of the week. It was something he'd be willing to risk just to keep her alive and well.
As the pair moved towards them again, it was then that the mare had taken a step towards him. Doctor pranced side-ways and gave a nicker in response, and had shot a glance at her rider as he stopped her from getting close. His tail hit his flank and gave a whinny of excitement. Lauren gave a melodious laugh at this and shook her head. The colt-like demeanor in Doctor always came out when he was around mares. Lauren glanced back over her shoulder briefly as Vladimir gave a chuckle at Doctor's previous whinny when the pair touched noses, and had also captured that smirk of his. Doctor had halted as Lauren sat deep into the saddle. She turned Doctor around, so that she was now facing the mare and Vlad. With her black gloved hand, she waved off his thanks with a modest smile. And his next comment had made her modest smile turn into something along the lines of shy and almost childlike. His grin had captivated her, and she couldn't help but smile back at him. Doctor began to walk again, and as they once again turned away from the pair, Lauren's smile hadn't left. She was always one of those happy people, but confound it, she wasn't this smiley often. Sure interacting with people had brought out her alluring smile, but Vladimir had a smile that you couldn't help but smile back to. And as she reminded herself that those types of men that smiled and told you everything you wanted to hear were the worst, she cleared her throat and composed herself. And her smile returned to its former state, and she was tranquil and at ease. Behind her she heard the rapid movement of hooves against the arena ground reverberated around her and into her ears, she remained focused on Doctor. The stallion heard the noise, and had began to pick up speed. It was out of sheer habit and instinct. His walk quickened into a trot, and right as he was about to go into a full gallop, Lauren gave a very tender tug to the reins. Doctor gave a buck of displeasure, tossing his head and giving a bit of an angered whicker as he pawed the earth. His head remained high as he envied the mare as she galloped along whilst he was standing still at the command of his rider. His fiery eyes filled with want and need. He needed to run, and he wanted it badly he could feel it ache within him. He gave a somber whinny, and as he began to walk, Lauren wasn't having it. Sitting deep into the saddle, and putting very little pressure on his mouth, he halted. And once more this angered the stallion. He was infuriated, and his anger was clearly rising. Doctor gave a half-rear, and Lauren held on skillfully. As soon as his front hooves met with the ground, she turned him in a tight circle before the stallion gave in with an angered grunt. Pleased with the response, she asked for a walk, and he obliged though his eyes took in the figures as they raced about the arena. Lauren looked over and smiled as the mare performed reining moves she didn't know by name but was familiar with. She saw the same passion Hypno had that Doctor shared, and she gave a soft pat to his neck. I'm sorry, Love. She murmured towards him, knowing that not only was he completely mad at her for taking away the ability to run, but demanding to keep him at a walk. His ears flicked back to capture her voice, and then lifted forwards as though nothing had happened. He would forgive her it was inevitable, but for now he was going to ignore her.
Doctor's ears attentively twitched as the pair came up from their recent run, and Lauren had been consciously aware of where they were. She always enjoyed company on days like this, and being in a public arena one had to know where the others were so there weren't any accidents and such. As the eye-pleasing mare and rider came towards them and were within Lauren's peripheral eyesight she gave Vladimir another smile. His voice caught her attention and she looked at him politely. She always liked to look at people when they were talking to her, and when she intended to answer them. It was a habit, and Lauren gave a smile as her eyes scanned the mare's stocky but muscular body. She could only imagine the years of hard work she endured, but thoroughly enjoyed. Well, she certainly runs like a Thoroughbred. She commented as her eyes dropped back onto the Quarter Horse. She analyzed her compact body before comparing it to Doctor's own. Doctor was lean with slender legs, and muscles to boot. His body was built for running, and with his strong hind muscles he could easily carry a rider for however many furlongs his heart desired. Doctor had quite a bit of heart, and when energetic and worked up, would often gallop with Lauren on his back for a good couple of minutes until his legs couldn't gallop any further. He would then hinder his speed, and slow to a walk and obey Lauren at this time. When at a full gallop, Lauren had very minimal control of her horse, but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing. Doctor had that keen and ideal sense that he knew what he was doing, and it wasn't like she was going to allow him to race, so he could do whatever he felt like. He could gallop all over the track for all she cared as long as he listened to her when the time came from his momentary freedom came to an end, and he always did. As the moment they had been galloping he had been set free from his cage of sins and burdens throughout his life and it was as if he had never dealt with harsh things, or suffered through life's hardships oh it had to be one of the greatest feelings in the world to this man. All he ever dreamed about was one day leaving the past behind and finding peace in this moment in time that he lived in but it just seemed so far away so hopeless for any being to wish for. Though as a secret he did wish for it, without anyone's knowing but he did and wished to also conquer his fear before he died whether it be at twenty six or sixty five he would do it. As Hypnotic had finally settled herself a bit of sweat rolled down her chest, he had not put the breast collar on today which he usually does not for just a bit of running. Though for training, or working her hard he would, as well as for reigning. As the pair stood before the dazzling rider and her mighty stallion though temperamental mighty none the less. Those green gray eyes fixated on the Earth from where the sugar cube had once fallen and now nothing lay there but the dirt from the arena. The stallion had ate it, well surprised by this Vlad was certainly pleased he wanted to learn about this stallion.
He supposed in a sense Hypnotic and Doctor here were a lot alike, maybe not in physical appearance though certainly in the way they held the hunger to run till they fell flat on this Earth. Though also set in their ways, you see Doctor does not favor the male gender for some reason unknown but seems to cannot pass that obstacle within his life and with Hypnotic she won't dare let another soul sit upon her back, unless of course they want a few major or minor injuries done to them. The two though he was just guessing has never had any other being but the two sitting upon their backs to help them, and shape them. Indeed to start now it would be a long process but something rewarding would certainly come at the end. Smirking wildly he spoke. "I agree las, What are your plans today?" The Scottish brogue deep and charming as it rolled off his tongue and did this question lead to another he was not sure but possibly he would get the chance to learn more about this Lauren though his head and gut told him to stay far away.
This girl did something, it was a little something though still it was very strange for him. The feeling of a small child, as if he could not stop smiling or quite speaking to her. Lauren she was a delight, an easy going person though his chances as he thought before are quite slim to none he honestly never had a chance with her. Though allowing these thoughts to drift away he then spoke up once more. "Did something happen to yer lad there that caused so many issues?" He questioned just out of curiosity he was not sure if any others had ever asked but he actually wanted to know. Vladimir gave a good pat the grulla neck of his mare and grinned while she tried to turn her head to give him affection in return. Though a small nibble on the boot was the best Hypno could do for now. As he allowed his attention to focus back on the female before him so that he could hear her responses to all that he had said. Vladimir wondered about this Lauren did she have this affect on a lot of men? Did she play games just as he did? Had he met his match in a sense? Knowing she had not sinned as many times as he and certainly considered a saint in his book but possibly she knew the tricks and maybe not played them as often but did note them every time one appeared. Those green eyes were glued to this female, he just respected her in a sense unlike the others so far that is.

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The fluidity of the leisurely walk made Lauren feel at home. Around Doctor she felt at ease, but also on edge. After all, he had a mind of his own. He could easily act without warning, and take off with Lauren on his back, or even decide to listen. Every day she didn't know what to expect, and with the unpredictable stallion she had grown so fond of, it was hard to imagine how much this girl truly adored the blood bay. Granted, she saw another side of him, but Doctor wasn't a phony like most were. He had shown Lauren the ugliest sides of him, as well as the tender and speculative sides of him. He was complex, and whilst Lauren seemed to be very simple, she too was also complex. The duo in a sense completed each other, but both were equally stubborn which caused them to occasionally butt heads. Lauren hardly ever backs down, especially to Doctor. He knows that he can't boss her around, and so he'll submit to her whims almost instantly. He wasn't the perfect mount, but in Lauren's eyes, Doctor was just right the way he was. She wouldn't change him for the world. She smiled as Doctor began to prance again. Not only was he showing off for the mare in the ring but also for Lauren. She gave a good-natured laugh before settling him down. He had his comical moments, and Lauren couldn't help but laugh. He made her feel better even on the worse days, and well, she would never sell Doctor for all the money in the world. She'd rather go broke and live on the streets as long as she had him. Lauren leaned over and rubbed his arched neck. Doctor gave a whicker of pleasure, bobbing his head with thorough enjoyment. So he had made her happy. He nickered softly as he turned his head just a bit until he saw the face of his rider. He gave a very passive snort before he continued with his loose walk. Doctor's muscles quivered with energy beneath his coat, and he yearned to gallop. Lauren would easily allow him to, but for the sake of the other rider and his horse, she couldn't risk something like that. Doctor could - at the very last minute - decide to inflict some very nice wounds on him, and she'd feel awful guilty. He did seem like a very nice man, and she felt herself wanting to learn more about him. However, she had enough patience to get to know him over time, well if time was permitting for them to meet up. Perhaps, this was only a one-shot deal, and Lauren felt her stomach squeeze at the idea. She couldn't say if he was intrigued enough to stick around and make the chance to get to know her, or just be like all the rest... Cower and disappear.
Lauren looked around, deciding to distract herself with her surroundings. She didn't want to think of that. The past always brings the hurt along with it, and she didn't want to be reminded of it. What happened had happened, and she knew she could do nothing about it. Instead, she turned her thoughts onto Doctor, and wondered if there was any plausible way to get another onto his back. Women and men alike he wouldn't allow it. Doctor had done enough damage to humans that weren't Lauren. He broke bones, and was merciless in attacking them to force them away from him. Doctor would try desperately to get back to Lauren. All he wanted was her, and that was what made him content. Whenever she was around, he was calm for the most part, but with others... Forget about it. He'd destroy any and all that stood between him and his rider. It was just the way he was, and allowing another human onto his back... It felt like he was betraying her in a sense. Lauren cleared her throat softly, wondering if anything were to happen to her that made her bed-ridden for a few weeks, who could exercise him? The stable hands couldn't even get into his stall, let alone get onto his back. She was worried that if she had an accident, that Doctor would go mad. He'd turn wild and uncontrollable, and she didn't want that. She wanted anything but that. The familiar and soothing voice of the man beside her reached her ears, and there was a feel of relief to get away from those thoughts of hers. Lauren met his gaze without hesitation and gave a smile. She took in his question, and allowed her shoulders to roll in a small shrug. Aside from riding Doctor, nothing. She commented, honestly. When no plans had arisen for Lauren, she'd either stick around the stables for a good while, or she'd go home and do things around her apartment. Maybe, if she felt up to it, she'd go the local club in town. It all depended on her mood. And how about you, Vlad. What are your plans for today? She inquired in return, her voice being defined by honest curiosity. Lauren had to admit she felt drawn to him. He was mysterious, and she knew nothing about him. All in all, it was a bad mix. Lauren and mysterious men was just like a drug addict and its next fix; she just couldn't get enough. She shifted in her saddle, her hazel eyes glancing down at the movement of Doctor's ears flicking back to feel her weight shift upon his back. Once she settled down, his ears pricked forwards, and he remained at ease beside the mare. He had nickered a very subtle greeting of delight before allowing the silence to form once more.
Lauren's eyes observed his features in a polite sense. She wasn't necessarily gawking at him, but very casually taking in his features. From his eyes all the way down to his defined jaw, she seemed to be attracted to, though a thought rose in her mind. Was there anything beyond just the physical aspect? She decided that question would be unanswered for quite some time, but she was content with it none the less. She couldn't go rushing in, but Lauren wondered why the change? Usually she flirted and moved on, but why did she thirst for more? The thoughts were lugged out, and she gazed upon him once more. His lips parted and his Scottish accent twirled around her, and his question caught her off guard. Curiosity and surprise mixing together within her eyes that betrayed her, and though her face remained devoid of emotion, her eyes were glinted with the current feelings. She studied him, wondering of what he was trying to get at, but instead she looked at the neck of Doctor. Lauren allowed her reins to drop, and her arms fell to her sides. Doctor gave an almost alarmed whicker, turning his head around to check on his rider. Lauren looked at him quietly before she gathered his reins, and watched as an ear was now turned back towards her. She knew he was listening, and she exhaled before she looked back at Vladimir. That brilliant smile had faltered some, but remained on her lips as a very meek one. Well, they never come back... Men, I mean. As she stated this, her eyes avoided his gaze, but soon returned to look at him, wanting to see the reaction. It's my fault, and it's also the fact that I was the only one he came into contact with when I was training him... Lauren spoke truthfully, she wasn't one to lie when it came to Doctor. Other things, she could say things just to get people away from her, but she was honest with him. Lauren patted the shoulder of Doctor before she looked at him again. I can say, you're definitely the first one to ask... Most are too busy screaming or driving off. She laughed softly before Doctor gave a nicker and went quiet once more. His ear still remained turned back towards his rider, and was seemingly concerned for her and her well-being. His brown eyes filled with that smoldering blaze, and if he knew that the man beside them had done something to cause this, he'd get after him. It didn't seem like he was doing anything, so Doctor remained comfortable and quiet alongside his mount, eyeing her rather intently as the two riders went silent for the most part.
