they know you're lonely, and they will only break your heart
AND THIS MASTERPIECE WILL TEAR YOU APART

A scream pierced the air. Sound vibrations beat off of the nothingness, for that was all this place was. Black. A void. Nothing, except what ever had screamed. The note was a mixture of pain and craze. She couldn't pin point where it was coming from, but it was intended for her. She knew that much. An unwavering blue eye stared into her, tearing her apart by the molecules, and a flap of red flesh made a crude noise against the air. It was Atlas. The beast was Atlas. What was wrong, what had happened? The brute had torn open his chest, muscles hanging exposed in the air and tendons flexing only half way between the expanse. The stallion looked completely wild and savage. His slender ears pressed flat into his skull and every working muscle and tendon flexed and tensed under the blacks pelt. The strain made even more blood pour from his wound.
You could see the lather lines where the animals bridle had been, but something had torn it off of his delicate head. There was a saddle on his back, and the loose irons slammed into his sides as he charged. The animal was covered in sweat, it was dripping off of his barrel and ran down his legs and into his wound. What had happened? What had happened to her beautiful boy?
He reared now, vaulting upon his hind legs. As he stood, she could see the crimson tide that ran down his stomach. As he stood, he pawed out at the sky at an invisible enemy. No,that was a lie. The enemy was her.
The black landed and fell on his wounded front end. He stood back up, struggling as he did so. The effort would make the gash in his chest worse in the long run, but right now the desire was too strong. The animal lunged at her, throwing his skull and raking his bared teeth across her shoulder. In that moment, she caught sight of his brown eye. Confusion, and pain bleed out of the horses iris. A gun shoot broke the void. But oddly enough, the Black wasn't the one shot...
Alexis launched awake with a gasp and a scream. She clutched her sides, nails digging into her rib cage. Her eyes were wide and strained, and her mouth was parted and panting.
She repeated the same curse word over and over again through the air.
Laying in bed she quivered and shook for a long time. Pulling a hand to her head, she pushed a heavy strand of curls away from her face and jumped out of her skin when her alarm went off. Crap, that was right. She had work tonight and was taking a nap. The restless kind. Twisting in bed, she pressed a button and ending the clocks frantic call.
Her shoulders were still quivering as she pulled herself out from under the covers and sheets and stood. She slowly made her way to the bathroom, auto drive kicking in as she turned on the florescent over head light. Pressing her hands on to either side of the sink, she looked up at her expression. God, she looked like hell.
Reaching down, she twisted a knob and turned on the cold water. Splashing the liquid on her face, she closed her eyes and sighed deeply. A small whimper leaked out of her and she yanked a hand towel out of a silver ring on the wall and dried her face. None of this. Walking into her closet, she turned on another light and looked around. Dark jeans and her work shirt. What a surprise. Tossing the clothing on her bed she grabbed and hair tie and secured her wild mane behind her eyes and traced a small bit of eyeliner around her eyes. She was stark naked and when she looked back into the mirror she swore she saw a stranger instead of herself. Squeezing the of socks bridge of her nose, she rooted for a pair of socks and raped her feet into them. They weren't even the same kind or color of sock. What ever. Jumping into her pants, she pushed her phone into a pocket and a chained wallet in another. Pulling a shirt over her head, and shoved her feet into her work shoes and headed out the door with her keys.
Alexis pulled around the back of the building and put her car in park. She didn't know if it was a luxury or not to have a parking place behind and out the way of the place she actually worked. At least she had a sure parking spot. There were nights where costumer parking was absolutely full. But still, with the hours she worked? Walking the distance from where ever she parked that night to where she actually worked could be a tad creepy. Even if it was a small and seemingly harmless town. Sighing softly, she flexed her hands out in front of her, cracking her knuckles, and opened the back door into the bar. The sound and lights and smell hit her all at the same time. Another work night yeah?
Work officially started in twenty. Plenty long enough to throw back a shot and live off her night mare. She didn't know if Aso was working tonight, but he wasn't here yet even if he was. Stepping behind the bar, she nodded to her bosses watchful gaze and went to work. Any surprises tonight?
