For once, his brain stayed in the correct place. It didn't wander. She was older....He didn't care. She was a mother, who was raped. He knew now that he'd protect her from anyone who would try to hurt her. Her lips were soft, just like the time before. He chuckled at her moan, but did not break away.
Feeling her draw closer, his hand left her neck and his arm wound around her torso to hold her up more comfortably. He still clutched her hand tightly, as if refusing to let go. And basicly, he was. This was soothing the attraction he had for her. Even in the short hour and fourty-five minues they knew eachother. He a groan, he slowly pulled his lips away but kept his head near hers. Taking deep breathsm his heart beating out of his chest.
He nver released his hold, he simply held her. Threading his fingers through her hair absentmindedly. He didn't want to stop the kiss but, he could only go so far. He knew his boundries and he really didn't want to do anything stupid, very...very stupid.
Continuing to take deep long breaths he lifted his head to gaze at her and smile.

KC's eyes flickered vaguely as his arm twisted around her body. He broke the kiss, and she didn't know whether to be reluctant, and sad about his pulling away, or thankful that he stopped it. She decided on thankful. It was save her from future grievence. She was slightly aware of his fingers combing through her hair, she could feel it part over his fingers. She looked up at him from her spot on the ground. She smiled softly, eyes glowing in the dim autumn light.
"Momma?" It was an inquisitive question. KC laughed softly, playfull when she shoved Reece off of her and moved to her knees as Fayth's leg pumped to carry her across the arena. "Yeah, baby?" She asked, Fayth slowed, eyeing Reece on the sandy ground for a second. "Coreh is finished." Fayth said, returning her gentle gaze to her mother. "Good job." KC smiled as her daughter fidgeted with her hands. "Was he a good boy?" KC asked softly. Fayth nodded.
The three year old sidestepped and approached Reece cautiously, but curiously. KC watched with a half smirk. "Why are you on.." She paused forwning in thought. "Ground?" She finally finished after a minute of thinking. KC stood swiftly, brushing dust off, and flipping her hair down, shaking her fingers through her hair, which was now full of sand. When she'd succeeded in getting most of it out, she stood straight, flciking her hair back. It fell down her back loosely. Fayth waited with slight impatience.

Reece himself was really comfortable, just enough to make his eyes drop, feeling tired even. His hand had stopped its studies and now rested happily between her shoulders. He remained as close as he could. Sea Star was taking a jaunt around the arena, just walking around in circles.
He was faintly aware of the three-year-old coming to them. He was completely aware when KC playfully pushed him off. He smiled and bit his lip again. Quietly observing the pair from a distance. He smiled at Fayth every time she glanced over at him.
Then she spoke to him, approaching him slowly. He watched her with large, happy, green orbs. The wheels in his head began to turn wildly. Should he tell her that he was kissing her mother? Gazing over at KC his eyes held the message. "What do I say."
He looked back to Fayth and smiled. "Nothing, just it's more comfortable." that was the worst lie of his life! Luckily he sounded convincing. Taking away the moment's hesitation.

It took all of KC's will to keep from doubling over in laughter at the look on Reece's face. The 'what do I say' look completely caught her by surprise and she covered her mouth to hide the laughing grin. But that did it. His reply brought tears to her eyes, and a melidous laugh escaped. She clamped her hand tighter, and turned away, burying her face in her hands as she laughed silently. Once she moved to face them again, she nearly cracked again, this time at Fayth's expression.
It was a mixture between confusion and anger. Her mother had just started dying of laughter, and Fay didn't quite get what was so funny. To test the theory though, Fayth plopped down beside Reece. After a few seconds, the little girl wrinkled her nose. "Comfo..table?" She looked disbelieving. KC was still smiling widely as her daughter pushed herself off the ground. KC swooped down to pick up her daughter with lithe grace, moving the bouncy blond girl to her hip, ignoring the pain felt from her previous shoulder fiasco with little more than a wince. Fay seemed not to notice.
KC brushed her lips against Fayth's forehead, running her free hand through the ringlets. Fayth was still watching Reece intently. KC glanced up. "I think your horse is bored." She nodded to the big black stallion, whom seemed to be wandering aimlessly about the arena.
Fayth's eyes widened. "Can I help with you horse?" Her eyes beamed now, a smile on her young lips. KC smled softly. "Fay, love, you know better than to ask yourself." Fayth looked sheepish for a split second before the hope returned to her gaze and she looked at Reece for his approval or disapproval.

He noticed her laughing, now. At first he didn't get was the joke was. Of course, a lot of things he said made a lot of people laugh. He smiled when Fay sat beside him. This time, he always died in insane laughter. "Yeah, it makes me feel good!" he gave KC a cocky, but playful grin. He turned his full attention back onto Fayth for a moment before standing up and brushing off his rear end.
He looked over at Sea Star who was staring deeply into a bush, again. Then, out of nowhere. He jumped and let out a shrill whinny. "I don't think he likes that bush anymore." Reece muttered with a smile. He acknowledged the little girl by facing her when she spoke, and at her mother's gentle scholding.
The boy smiled "Of course you can. First let's get him over here." he grinned, putting his fingers to his lips for a short whistle. "Hey you big lug, you have nice legs! Let's see 'em move!" he called to his horse with a chuckle. Sea Star whinnied and came trotting over. But, instead of going to Reece, he turned his attention to Fayth and KC.
"Fine, loverboy! Flirt all you want." Reece said while watching from off to the side at the horse sniffed at Fayth and KC's hair. Reece came over and leaned against the muscular shoulder. The stallion looked at Reece and nickered a greeting.
Then, out of nowhere. The little fluffy thing popped up and scampered over to Reece and sprang onto his shoulder. "Hey Fayth, you wanna help me take him to the pasture?" he asked the girl with wide eyes. Sea Star would follow anyone Reece told him to. Coconut wrapped his tail around his neck and stuck his nose in his ear, making the boy laugh like he was being tickled.
He reached into his sweatshirt poked and took out the Papaya, which he now remembered he had. He easily split a piece away. The scruffy creature opened his mouth, ready. Showing his beautifuly pointed teeth. Reece gave him the fruit which he began to nibble on happily. Whiskers tickling his cheeks.

KC smirked at his smile. It felt good to be relaxed, and be the KC she'd always guarded behind locked doors. She was grateful for Reece's coming along, because she'd been beginning to forget exactly where she'd kept the key. She sighed softly and hugged Fayth to her chest protectivly. It was nothing against Reece, just a motherly habit. KC studied his face with a small smile. His cocky grin only made her smile wider. She was rather glad that she'd met him. He'd helped her realize who she could be if she dropped a few walls, and took down the guardrails. And the truth was, she liked being so free.
Fayth smiled brightly at the big black stallion as he spazzed out because the bush had probably flickered in the wind, sending the leaves a rustling and the branches a waving. Fayth was still preoccupied with the flashy black horse when Reece commented on Poesideons strange fear of the bush. It was funny to watch though, and Fayth giggled when he gave a neigh, either yelling at them to run, or daring the bush to fight him.
Fayth's smile kicked it up about three notches when Reece accepted her invitation, which had been addressed herself. KC laughed as he called the big stallion over to them. Fayth was rather delighted when Sea Star approached them, almost ignoring Reece completely, until the boy began to come to the horse himself.
KC only smiled when the horse nickered to his owner. It was a sweet sight, the pair together. KC's eyes dropped in thought. Seconds later, Fayth tapped KC's shoulder, the silent cue for 'let me down'. KC grinned and loosened her grip on the three year old, bending her knees to make the drop less severe. Fayth made contact to the ground, she held steady and being supported by her mother. Fayth nodded rapidly. "Yes!" She said, glee lighting her voice up. She moved toward Reece, eyes weary and on Coconut.

Sea Star reached down and continued his endless investigation on the little girl. Reece shook his head and tsked playfully. Yes, it was normal for a horse to act curiously. Still, it was rather amusing to him. The boy gently touched the horse's flank. Sea Star's ears turned back to face Reece, but he did not lift his head.
"Looks like he likes you. That really doesn't surprise me." the young author grinned. Good, that meant Fayth had a lesser risk to get stepped on! GREAT! Sure, Poseidon always watched where he placed his feet yet, there was always that chance.
He beamed at the look of glee on te young girl's face. She was going to make a wonderful rider! No doubt. He looked over at his mount and sighed. There was no way he could get a halter on him without some injury. e wasn't even halter trained. Really, Reece didn't want to train him. The stallion was fine the way he was. There was barely a chance that Fayth would be able to reach his maneand lead him that way. He was too big, his own withers poking a few inches over Reece's head.
"Alright Fayth, to lead him all I want you to do is walk beside him. He'll follow you. Stay away from his hooves, I don't want you to get stepped on. It hurts." simple directions. Plus, she'd be safer that way. Walking just a few feet off to the side. He'd hate for her to be right beside him during one of his explosions.

KC crossed her arms, eyes on Reece, Sea Star andher daughter. She trusted Reece to watch over Fayth. He seemed very much the child lover. KC had always found herself the mother figure of many children, from the age of twelve, to her age now, when she actually was a mother. A young mother, but a mother no less. She smiled affectionately, and it felt off to feel the affection grow to envelope not only her precious Fayth, but Reece as well. She tilted her head, mind still wandering, shaking a hand through her hair, ridding even more dust from the thick mahogany waves.
Fayth's grin widened into a beam of light at Reece, a delighted laugh on her delicately shaped lips. Fayth was in utter and honest amazement. The big stallion was brilliant, and in her eyes flawless. And he liked her! The little girl laughed again and reached out slowly, but deliberatly and stroked the stallion's charred muzzle. Fayth looked up at his direction, taking it in the best she could. Walk beside him. She could do that.
KC watched a bit more carefully now, taking a hesitant step closer to the three. Worry was evident on her face. Fayth was her life, and she'd let no harm come to her, not like she'd had, or any other kind. She glanced at Reece and then back to Fayth who seemed entirely too eager to follow Reece's lead to take the stallion to his pasture. KC sighed and relaxed. Trust him, she reminded herself. Trust him.

Keeping a close eye on both girl and horse, Reece mae sure everything was safe. Yes, his stallion was sweet and loving but, he was still a stallion. He had his moments. Like the one that seemed like it was hours ago. Sea Star nickered at the little girl's sof and gentle touch on his muzzle.
He cold not hurt this little human. If he did, he could be put down! The stallion's simple animal mind told him. No hurt the foal! Her dam would be mad at him. His boy would be mad at him! That couldn't happen. He'd protect the foal! He'd keep her safe! No other stallion could come near her. If they did! He'd fight them!
Reece looked over at KC, seeing the worry on her face. He could only imagine what could be going on inside the young mother's head. He wanted to reach out and tell her that everythig was ok. He wouldn't let anything happen to Fayth. He'd never forgive himself if anything did happen to her.
Sea Star stood about a foot from the little girl. That was a good distamce. If he happened to go berserk, then there was a lesser chance she's be stepped on. If anyone was going to be kicked, it was Reece.
He took a the lead, looking back once with smile before heading for the gate.

KC knew exactly how stallions could be. She'd owned several in the past, ranging from total angels to complete, vicious monsters. There'd been one or two she'd never let Fayth meet in fear they would attack her. KC looked up, seeing Reece's gaze on her. She could see it in his eyes, that nothing would be allowed to harm her daughter while he was around. She smiled softly to herself and Reece and watched as Fayth gladly patted the stallion.
The little girl's eyes brightened as the stallion emmitted a nicker when she stroked him. Her golden hair fell in scrumpcious ringlets about her face, amber eyes like thrilled, orange-ish lakes. She touched the horse again, fingers memorizing the feel of the soft hair, tracing the whorl which began at his forehead. Her yong hand brushed his forelock, the coarse hairs rough against her unblemished skin. She smiled and confidently moved forth about a foot, or what she assumed to be a foot beside the stallion, grinning even brighter as he followed.
KC followed behind the three, a good ten or so paces behind thm all. It was a miraculous sight, the horse following his boy, and her daughter. She had to smile at Fayth's face though. The little girl was at a loss for words with how excited she was for helping Reece take the horse to his paddock. In fact, she could do nothing but smile as she followed quietly, rolling back her shoulder. Pain shot down her arm like it had been smashed with a sledge hammer. She flinched, yet the smile remained in place.

Sea Star had his head raised, and he was strutting. Nickering at the other horses behind the fences as they glanced at him and Fayth. The stallion let out a whinny that even a human coud understand. Something along the words of: "Look at me! Look at my new friend!" he was happy, as far as horses go. The human foal liked him! That made him happy! He liked her caresses and smile. And, his boy liked the foal, too!
That was a good thing! Anything his boy liked, he liked. Pausing, he turned and glanced at the human mare and whickered, as if to say: "Are you coming? Hurry up!". Reece laughed from up ahead. The stallion turned back around and walked beside Fayth. Watching where he put his feet, as always.
Even though he liked the funny sound Reece made when he stepped on the boy's foot!
Reece counted the paddocks and pastures trying to remember the one he requested for his horse. He knew that the other horses within the large grassy area were geldings. The last thing Reece wanted to deal with were mares or other stallions. He could run with geldings. Play fights, races, screaming contests! The stallion would be perfectly happy!
He stopped at a gate and three gelding's heads shop up to see the new horse. He smiled at Fayth "All you gotta do now is let him go!" he laughed, aware that the brute was way ahead of her. He stopped in the pasture and whinnied to the other horses.
He looked back at Fayth and at Reece. He trotted over to the tall teen and shoved his nose against his chest. Reece ran his fingers through the long mane. They two held a bond stronger than life itself. The horse looked down at Fayth and then at KC while Reece clung to his neck. The three smaller geldings were already sniffing at the big stud. Sea Star broke away from Reece and greeted the other horses while the boy watched him with a smile on his face.

KC watched the three from behind them, walking slowly and carefully. When the stallion paused, and looked back at her, she let an easy laugh ring out, it was a smooth sound, relaxed, natural. Her stride picked up the pace a little, but she hung back as Fayth followed Reece, a skip to her step as she lead the stallion to where he would be kept. The little child was so happy, that KC herself just had to be happy. Who couldn't be, in the presence of her little one? KC leaned against the fence, shoulder aching, but also being ignored.
Fayth stopped by Reece, hands clasped together infront of her, held as if she were holding up a bouquet of flowers, she looked at her mother who smiled quietly, then looked up at Reece with excited interest. "Uh.." She paused, as if having lost her mind. Then suddenly she remembered, and grinned. "Thanks!" She dropped her hands and clutched her shirt with one fist. The child constantly had to be holding onto something.
KC's eyes drifted to the white fence. Over it climbed a rose bush, clinging to the glaring white rails. KC plucked a shining, silky red petal from the bloomed flower, one of few still alive as fall set into stride. She sighed heavily. They reminded her of her grandmother. They'd had a garden of roses, many kinds, but KC had always been partial to the red and white. The crimson, romantic-ese of red, and delicate, pure of the white. KC stroked the petal with her finger tips before dropping the little thing. It lofted up with the breeze before waving downward, being carried off by the wind, floating carelessly toward Reece and her daughter,

Sea Star and the oldest gelding, probably the leader of the small band instantly began to battle out a pecking order among them. No fighting was involved. Sea Star stood proud, rearing to as high as he could go, sending out a shrill whistle. The gelding did the same and then, they bolted. Racing to the other side of the pasture. Snorting the whole time. The two other gledings cantered lazily behind them.
When the stallion reared, Reece checked that Fayth was nowhere near him. Luckily, she wasn't. He heard her thanks and he gave her a nod "You're welcome." he said, already loving the bright little girl (and her mother)...
Any untrained eye wouldn't notice the lonely little rose petal that landed at his feet. He smiled at Fayth and knelt down and took the delicate petal into his hand. He closed his fingers around it and straightend up, facing KC.
In three long strides he stood in front of her. Without breakng his gaze, he took her hand and let the rose petal rest on her palm, while his hand reined cupped over it. He smled softly "Thank you." he whispered.

Fayth's eyes danced and watched as the horses stood on their hind legs, legs slashing air, yet not close enough to harm each other. The pair landed, and within seconds were tearing up the ground, clods of sod spraying like sea water and foam from their hooves. They streaked away, the other two horses in the pasture seemed more relaxed and careless and started off slowly before moving up to a canter, pursuing the stallion and gelding rather lazily.
KC was watching the petal, distraction evident on her face, as if her mind was blazing along at about ninety miles and hour. She watched it drift toward the ground, and was taken aback with Reece stooped down and caught the petal. She hadn't had a chance to realize if the ground had been graced with the rose petal's touch. His hand had enveloped it before she could comprehend. Her eyes lingered on his hand, remembering the feel of it gripping hers. Longingly, yet gently. His skin so soft against hers, if it was calloused in the least, she hadn't been able to tell. It was soft in her eyes.
She looked up, startled when he was suddenly inches from her. She felt the smooth, passionate feel of what she assumed to be the petal. She didn't dare break his gaze to check if it was the rose petal. Her fingers were folded over the graceful curves of the piece of flower. She looked at him curiously. "Uhm.. You're welcome?" The question as to 'thank you for what?' was evident in her voice.

He studied the smoothness of her skin. His messy hair hung in his eyes. He heard two bickering horses from somewhere far off. Silence remained between them for a moment. He struggled to find his thoughts. He got lost just...just looking at her! Why did she have to be so beautiful?? He couldn't think.
Still, he remembered hat he was thanking her for. He smiled at her confused response. "Thank you, because you made my first day at Shady Lane. One of the best of my life." It was true. He felt weird saying it but, true. His voice was confident...Surprisingly. He was shrieking on the inside. What would she say? Would she think he was weirder than he already was? So many questions filled his head al at once but, he hid his fear through a smile.
ooc: I know, it's short!

KC stayed quiet for a moment, trusting eyes looking up at his. It was hard to see the sweet gaze, his hair, piled on top of his head, flowed easily into the warm deeps. Her muscles twitched, attempting to brush the hair from his eyes, but she resisted, staying still, silent. Her hand felt warm in his, but her palm was clammy, sweating, nervous of some sorts. She watched him carefully, eyes not straying from his to even glance at Fayth, who was watching them curiously. Her attention soon returned to the horses, though.
KC dropped her eyes shyly when he finished speaking, hair tumbling in a thick wave into her face. Her face warmed to an impossible degree, and she was sure her cheeks were flaming their own special red-bronze. Her exotic-type skin kept her from turning pink, but her skin did darken, and glow a slight rosy red. She closed her eyes for a few seconds, regaining her lost composure. Finally, she looked back up at him. "It was my pleasure, Reece." She replied sincerely.
ooc; s'okay!

He smiled calmly as she looked away from his friendly gaze. Knowing how emotions worked, he guessed that she was blushing. He felt his paler cheek run red, just a light pink that wasn't really noticable on his still gorwing face. He flipped the hair out of his face with a flick of his head to one side.
He picked up the two horses racing back toward them but stopping a few feet off. Sea Star reared again and the older gelding reached back to kick at the stallion's stomach. But, this was a play fight and the gelding missed. Sea Star eached out to nip the gelding's flank. The horses bolted again. Reece was aware of the battle for leader to continue until one of the horses gave up. His eyes never left her face.
He could hear everything he wanted in her voice. She was 100% sincere. His face lit up and he flashed a perfectly white grin.

KC awaited his reaction and stood in silence. She didn't raise her voice to ask for an answer, instead she waited, watching his face and looking for the smallest sign of acknowledgement. While waiting, the other half of her mind worked despretly to comprehend her aituation. She'd never felt this way before! All she wanted to do was touch him, hear his voice, feel his lips! But even though there was confusion on the inside, KC very well hid her emotions, and kept up a small smile.
When a satisfied grin broke out across his face KC could do nothing but smile. Obviously he'd heard what he wanted to hear. She wanted to, in fact, she prayed she could cover his mouth with her own, but she remained still and quiet, eyes studying his own. "So that was the right answer?" She laughed softly, lifting her other hand and slipping it into his opposite half on impulse, half consciously, in fear that he would feel awkward and drop it. But somehow she doubted he would.
ooc; ick. sorrrrrry.

kiss me, kiss her, kiss me, kiss her the agument raged on and on in his mind. He wanted so much to explore her lips once more. Should he? Or should he not? Yes? or No? He smiled at her reply "That was the right answer." he replied happily. His eyes trailing over her face, especially her eyes.
He felt her hand slide into his. This time without hesitation, he gave it a gentle squeeze.Holding it tight, making sure it didn't drop. He didn't mind if Fayth was there. The little girl deserved to know how he felt about her mum. So, he leaned down and for the third time that day. Their lips met. But this time, it was a quickie. He kissed her fr about two seconds before pulling back.
He had never felt this way before. Was it love? He smiled at her, his grin that never seemed to die.
