GAVE INTO LOVE & WATCHED THE BITTERNESS BURN - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -The crickets chirped into the night atmosphere. The dismal night sky was the girl’s companion as she walked quietly up to the stables. All source of transportation was nowhere in sight, and she was grateful. The lights that lined the driveway kept her company as she came upon the doors of the stable. The stars that twinkled above seemed to encourage her, and the nineteen year old pushed the door back. It groaned and gave way to the stubborn force until it revealed the darkly lit stables. Each and every horse somewhat stirred, but there was one face that stared at her. Its head raised high above the rest, and its ears pricked forwards above its chiseled head. Her astounding colored eyes tried to squint into the light, but all was in vain. Instead of waiting for her eyes to adjust, she called feebly into the darkness. Doctor? A quiet nicker confirmed that the horse staring at her expectantly was indeed her stallion. She smiled and her eyes that looked light brown/green/hazel and occasionally blue glimmered with the sparse lighting. Another nicker beckoned her to come closer, and the stallion’s voice became somewhat harsher. Without refusing the ability to come close to him, she walked forwards, cloaked entirely in the darkness that consumed her. Her footsteps were inaudible, and her English riding boots never gave into the squeaks they usually did. Instead, she moved stealthily through the darkness until she reached the three year old Thoroughbred. His light brown eyes looked like hollow places on his face. The light that was around him poorly illuminated his worried face as he gazed at her. Her slender frame seemed fragile next to the stallion of solid muscle. And yet, she was comforted by his rugged appearance. Her blood bay stallion of 16.3 hands high gazed at her elegantly. Everything about Doctor Love was elegant and refined. He was a handsome stallion, but that was only a scratch on the surface. I couldn’t sleep. She told him, and the troublesome emotion eased. However, Lauren may not have been able to sleep, but she somewhat lying. She felt the urge to see Doctor, and ride him in the darkness like she had done so many times.
Doctor lowered his head so she could stroke him, but Lauren refused this. Instead, she slowly reached out to unlock the stall door. She slid inside and stood next to him. He turned his head to watch her intently, and when her hands touched his coat tenderly he nickered happily. The dark voice of her stallion soothed her, and her gentle and calm voice accompanied his nicker. I’ll tack you up. We’ll go do some jumps. She murmured to him. His blood bay coat felt smooth under her touch, and having groomed him before she departed, he wouldn’t need another series of being cleaned. Lauren’s slender fingers moved down his muscular neck, and Doctor closed his eyes calmly. When he was around Lauren he was obedient and docile, however when she was not around he was someone’s worst nightmare. As he turned his head to gaze lovingly at her, Lauren smiled at him. With a gentle kiss placed upon his velvet muzzle as her hands took a gentle hold onto the brown leather halter. The halter clung loosely to his slender face, and Doctor snorted as she grabbed the lead rope that swung lazily on his stall door. She clipped it to his halter, and stepped out. Doctor followed loyally, though stared aggressively at each stallion and gelding as he passed by. Lauren listened to the sound of his hooves against the surface, and she was calmed and soothed by this. Last thing she would need is to get caught off guard by some person. And of course, she would scream with fright, but lucky her that wasn’t the case. She attached Doctor the lead ropes, and momentarily left him to gather his tack.Doctor watched as she slipped away, and was no longer seen. He watched that doorway until she returned with filled arms. Lauren smiled at him and placed the white saddle pad on his glimmering coat. Doctor tossed his head and pawed the stable surface. Lauren just shook her head, smiling. She placed the black English saddle onto him. She tightened the cinch, and moved the stirrups down until they were at the correct hole. When she grabbed the bridle, she stared at Doctor. His eyes were passionate and excited. A night ride was the cure-all for Lauren, and having to sneak into the stables was more than a thrill. Sure it was semi-scary and it was almost like a horror movie, but Lauren loved to feel her heart beat wildly against her chest. She was a dare devil and she did much more… Interesting things than come into the stables during the night.
Her tan breeches formed well to her dancer body. All of her muscles were firm and toned, and if you got lucky, felt nice to the touch. Lauren may be provocative, but mostly that was in a club with pulsing music and thumping beats. However, she dressed provocative or vindictively. And the pale pink shirt that she wore formed to her body nicely. It left room for imagination, but teased ones eyes playfully. Lauren undid the halter as she slipped the bridle over Doctor’s face. He took the bit as soon as she offered it, and she was grateful he wasn’t in one of his feisty moods. When she was sure it was in place, she put on her helmet and riding gloves and led him outside. She put one boot in the metal stirrup and swung up and over easily. She landed gently on his back, and Doctor nickered and gently pulled at the bit. Lauren tapped his shoulder firmly, and he settled beneath her slightly. She clicked her tongue, and as soon as her heels squeezed against him, Doctor obeyed and walked. His neck arched nicely, and his movements were just as elegant as he looked in the moonlight. Lauren stopped Doctor at the arena’s gate. She opened it and closed it when Doctor walked in. Lauren looked at the set up with a calm gaze. In the lit arena her eyes looked gold, and glowed beautifully beneath her helmet. Lauren walked Doctor half way around the arena before moving into a trot. She lifted and fell with his left shoulder, but she was used to it all. Doctor bucked slightly, and Lauren turned him in a tight circle for discipline. He never acted up in a competition, but he knew this wasn’t a competition. He acted up when he was turned, and Lauren continued to turn him in a circle. When he settled back under control, Doctor was allowed to trot again. Lauren eyed the set up, figuring out which jumps she would warm up on before they did them all during the night. She had all night to kill unless she got caught, but she didn’t care. That was the least of her worries. Lauren was grateful that the jumps were no taller than four feet. She knew that Doctor was a wonderful jumper, but he was still learning. She didn’t want to push him until he took these in strides. When Doctor would get bored and wanted a challenge he would let her know, and until that day came, she would stick to four feet jumps. She asked for a canter, and Doctor listened. She sat in the seat again and felt his muscles work underneath her. She calmed and then slowed him to a trot when she lined him up for a jump. Doctor studied the jump, and when they came closer, Lauren lifted out of her seat and the duo cleared it with ease. Doctor’s legs had lifted in text book formation, and each and every movement was elegant and fluid. He moved like a dream and sometimes Lauren would tell others that his movements felt like liquid.
Smiling, she progressed to the next one, and Doctor nickered when they cleared that as well. Now cantering around the arena, Lauren headed towards a jump of three feet and three inches. Doctor jumped over it with enough space to spare. He gave a playful buck and tossed his head up. Lauren got him under control and never let his childish outburst faze her. They rounded on a four foot triple, and smiled to herself. There was only enough room for one mere stride before the next one came along. It was new to Doctor, but Lauren had faith. As he cleared the first one, Lauren smiled as he came to the next and then finished the triple with no spills. She patted his neck affectionately. That’s my boy. Doctor nickered and he was more than thrilled at having impressed and made his Lauren happy. He always wanted to please her, and having done that made him feel elated. Lauren slowed him to a trot then to a walk. Doctor was barely breathing heavy, and he eyed the triple again. He licked his lips, and that signaled to Lauren he was eager to learn more. She stroked him as they walked around the arena. Lauren beamed with happiness at Doctor as he walked. But she clicked her tongue and trotted around the arena. Her eyes scanning the shadows intensely as they rounded the arena in their victory lap. The shadows leapt around, tricking her eyes. However, Lauren ignored this and focused on her stallion. Doctor whinnied as Lauren moved him towards a small oxer and he cleared it. She laughed before humming in a voice that was more than pleasing to ears. Doctor listened as he trotted around the arena again and gently nickered when she stopped singing. I love you, Doctor. She said before humming once more. Her voice sounding eerie as it carried in the darkness, but it was truly soothing to listen to. Nothing could be better than this.

It was hard to imagine that only a few months ago he had killed his own father.Over a dead horse! Starlit Sunshine was his pride and joy though. His beautiful mare now looked down on him. Watching her wonderful black filly, Sun run with the most gorgeous white stallion, Ghost. Vince watched his horses with his only good eye. His other, blind, scarred eye hidden bhind locks of jet black hair. Ghost trotted around tha pasture his white white frame was like a floating light in the darkness of night. Moving silently, like a ghost. He could barely see the single white sock of the five month old filly. The rest of her body black as night.
Vince enjoyed watching his horses run. Especially Sun. Her movements already fluid, even for a foal. She loped after quick on hi feet Ghost who nickered to his foal. Ghost was not Sun's real sire. Her father was back in England. The place that Vince never wanted to return to. Vince had spaced out when he eard footsteps coming his way. They were from a horse. He opened his eyes and looked at his seventeen hand stallion. Watching him with intelegent blue eyes. He could hear a quiet nicker from below. Sun lifted her neck and sniffed Vince's leg than jumped to the side and snorted.
Vince couldn't help but smile. He loved the little filly. She was perfect in every way. Being almost mute, Vince knew how to speak horse really well. He jumped down and flicked his wrist twice and started to jog to the other side of the pasture. Toward the gate. Ghost moved powerfully after his master. Matching his stride. Sn came up beside Ghost and whickered quietly. He could hear only the thump of their hooves as he moved. He felt a surge of pride, peace. Being ale to run with these magnificent horses. One as white as snow. One as black as night.
He opened the gate of the pasture and led his horses, without a lead rope, toward the arena. Ghost paced himself into a slow trot. His white mane and tail flowing out behind him like a river. It looked unreal. Magical. Gathering up his strength, Vince came closer to his trotting stallion, grabbed his mane and threw himself onto his back. Ghost lifted his head exitedly and trotted on. looking back to see if Sun was there. She was.
Vince slowed his horse with a silent whoa. He squinted and looked at the arena. It was occupied. He frowned ready to turn back but Ghost moved forward. Vince hadn't come out in the sunlightfor a month and a half now. He hid in the dark where no one could find him. Not like anybody was looking for a strang guy in the first place. He should try to communicate with someone. Even ifit mean talking. He'd do his best with body language.
He came up beside the gate and slid it open, allowing Sun to make her way in first. Ghost followed the foal. ince took a moment to look around than closed the gate behind him. The girl was pretty he had to admit. And so was her horse. He half smiled than nudged Ghost into a trot. He obeyed. And now with the lights in the arena, Vince could see Sun wandering behind him and Ghost. He'd wait for the girl to speak to him first. He wasn't one to strike up conversation...He wasn't one to talk at all. He looked away and closed his eyes. Enjoying the feel of his stallion beneath him.
He glanced over his shoulder when he heard the blonde girl talk to her stallion. Ghost payed no mind to the bay. Keep the Peace. He kept a close eye on Sun who shied away from the stange stallion when they got too close. Ghost nickered for the foal to ome to him. Sun jumped at the noise than galloped over. Tossing her head. Vince reached down and touched her shoulder. The smooth coat beneath his fingers felt good. Sun reached up and touched her nose to Ghost's shoulder. The white stallion nickered and reached back to return the touch.
Vince couldn't see how his stallion was to go to slaughter. He was so sweet and calm. Who would want to send a horse like that to a slaighter house? He sighed and glanced over his shoulder when the girl started to hum. She had a good voice, too. He wanted to compliment her but nothing came out. He smiled though. A smile that lasted for about a half a second than faded. He turned his back to her and asked Ghost for a trot.
Feeling himself moving again was going on his nerves. He trotted his horses around the arena. Passing the girl's horse twice. His single good eye watched the filly as they trotted. Finally, Sun began to slow, and so did Ghost. They just began a slow walk. Cool them down Tags~' Lauren, Vince Word Count~' Don't care Muse~' Eh Outfit~' Think of smething dark Notes~' RAWR!

GAVE INTO LOVE & WATCHED THE BITTERNESS BURN - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Lauren had been oblivious the trio that had entered. That was until Doctor became aggressive. She felt the sudden shift of tension in the air. Her eyes snapped directly to the stallion beneath her. His muscles tense, and his eyes never leaving the white horse. Lauren slowed him to a walk, and her humming was cut off abruptly. She gritted her teeth and she waited until Doctor would do anything. She shifted her eyes back and forth between her horse and the man’s own. There was a filly following them, and her eyes softened, though Doctor had other things in mind. A low snort escaped him, and when they passed by, Doctor’s muscles tensed incredibly. His movements became choppy, and his attention grasped by the stallion as well as man in the arena. Oh boy.. Here we go again. Then she knew what was going to come next. Doctor stopped in the center of the arena, and for good reason too. Lauren’s hands gripped into the reins, and Doctor tossed his head arrogantly. She shortened the reins, and with a low whisper to her stallion, he released a bellow. Lauren rolled her eyes at Doctor. He wouldn’t do anything with her on his back. Not unless he wanted Lauren injured and completely pissed off at him. But Doctor always had a soft place in her heart. No wonder she loved working with Thoroughbreds. They were a handful and consumed most of her time. She turned him tightly, her heel gently digging into his blood bay coat. Doctor whinnied in disagreement, but Lauren proceeded to turn him. Settle down. She murmured and hesitantly her stallion obeyed. His muscles now somewhat loosened, though his head held high in dominance. With a firm tap to his shoulder, Doctor redirected his attention to her, and she urged him into a trot after the pair. Naturally, Doctor was unhappy with this. He refused to budge, tossing his head and nickering defiantly up at her. Lauren scoffed incredulously at him. She wasn’t going to put up with his attitude any longer. With an almost unexpected tap to his rear, Doctor reluctantly moved into a trot. His eyes glued to the trio, but Lauren had him under control. She observed the man and his horses as Doctor moved along with smooth and even strides. She hadn’t seen him before, but she had recently started boarding at Shady Lane. Lauren watched him curiously, and Doctor snorted in an unhappy tone. She merely ignored him. He’d have to play nice whether he liked it or not. Lauren watched him quietly. He had passed by her twice without so much as a hi or a look. Confused but she calmed herself. Maybe he was just painfully shy? That seemed like a decent enough explanation, didn’t it? As Doctor now came up beside them, she slowed him to a walk. She looked at him with a gentle smile. Hi. I’m Lauren. She observed his albino stallion as well as black foal. Both were absolutely cute. She smiled but had frowned when Doctor grunted unhappily beneath her. She rolled her eyes, and gave a firm pat to his muscular shoulder. Doctor snorted and tossed his head, minding himself around the large stallion and boy for that matter. His Lauren was near a boy, and Doctor didn’t like this. Not one bit. He watched the boy and his stallion carefully. The foal he didn’t mind much. He liked foals for the most part. Lauren studied him before looking away. She didn’t want to seem impolite or make him uncomfortable. You’ve got a beautiful stallion and foal. She commented before tucking a stray blond curl behind her ear. Doctor whinnied at her comment, completely annoyed at this. His ears were back, and his muscles were taught. She threw him an apologetic smile, glaring at the back of Doctor’s neck until he relaxed slightly.
He was different. Lauren liked different, and turned to look away again, observing the shadows casually. Did you just come to Shady Lane? She inquired, her gentle voice breaking the silence once more. She was curious, but she wouldn’t pry into his personal business. She just wanted to see what was on the surface before she delved below it. Doctor again displayed his unhappiness by tugging at the reins. Lauren tugged back firmly, and he settled beneath her once more. Well, wasn’t she the lucky one to have an arrogant stallion? His seemed calm and didn’t seem to care about anything but the foal that pranced next to him. Doctor matched strides with the albino stallion, but Lauren knew that Doctor would bolt forwards if he was given the chance. However, the odds were not in his favor. He lowered his ears back once more, gnawing at the bit in his mouth irritably. His tail lashed out behind him frequently, and Lauren murmured something inaudible beneath her breath. Doctor complied and listened reluctantly before his rider moved him carefully away from the other stallion. With a few feet in between the pair, Lauren was still beside the guy. Her interest heightened as she politely studied him once more before looking away.

He didn't know why this other stallion was getting violent. Irritated. Ghost nickered quietly. He wasn't a threat. Still, the blood bay continuted his tantrum. He called for Sun. The foal galloped from the other end of the arena and trotted beside her sire. Her tail flicking this way and that. Ghost pausd to watch the other stallion. He wouldn't let that beast near his foal. He bellowed a warning not to get near the filly.
Vince gave his white stallion a scolding pat on the shoulder. His forever loyal horse just nickered an apology. Vince smiled and closed his eyes again. Hearing the stallion get closer and the girl speak to him. She her name was Lauren. She must want to know his name? He didn't want to speak to her. Not yet. Too shy. Too shy. Too scared. He looked up at her. His left eye calm. His right eye hidden. All of his scar hidden. He smiled kindly, but shyly. He didn't know what to do now. He just waited. His sinlge eye lowered. Averting her gaze.
Her perked up when she mentioned his horses. He loved talking about his horses. He looked up "T-thanks." he stuttered only to fall silent once more. His British accent clear as day. He realised that that was th first thing he's said in weeks. He frowned at himself. Why did he have to be so quiet? No, he knew the answer. Because he just was.
His temper flared but he cooled it. Not wanting to insult or offend this beautful woman. He's nevr had a girlfriend. He'd never really wanted one anyway. Her voice was gentle, calm. Trusting. She seemed curious of him. He watched her as she moved her stallion away. He frowned at her words. He'd been here for a month. Hiding. It was so stupid. He looked down to think. Twirling his stallion's white mane through his fingers. Was he to lie? no, lying was bad. But, he was bad. He killed his father. That made him bad. Very bad.
He wasn't going to lie. He looked up at Lauren and shook his head. Just a simple 'no'. He watched and waited. By now she should know that he was mostly mute and was forgetting how to speak more and more each day. He didn't want to speak...ever. He frowned and quickly looked away No fair. Life wasn't fair. He wante her to leave him alone. But he also wanted her company. It was so confusing. He dug his teeth into his lower lip. He felt like cryig. He wasn't going to cry in front of her. That showed weakness. He didn't want to be any more weak than he already was.
He would be strong. He'd try to talk to her. He'd try. Maybe now that he was here. He could change his life...Come out during the day. Interact with people. He couldn've have been the only person with a screwed up past. Maybe here...He could change.

GAVE INTO LOVE & WATCHED THE BITTERNESS BURN - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Lauren observed him, but Doctor snorted irritably. To even think of his Lauren conversing with males made him angry, but he could do nothing with Lauren astride his back. Unhappy, he snorted once more, giving into the demands of his rider. He wanted her at her utmost happiness, and if that meant sacrifices, so be it. However, he wouldn’t be the happiest stallion out there. Being next to the duo was causing his temper to flare but he had to simmer it down. Otherwise his beloved Lauren would be mad at him. That was last thing he wanted, and so he silenced himself, listening intently to their voices. One wrong mood would send Doctor into a fit of rage, and it wouldn’t exactly be pretty. He lowered his head in relaxation, or at least an attempt. However, his head jerked upwards and he whinnied loudly into the darkness. Lauren’s eyes snapped to the shadows, and she playfully nudged Doctor’s shoulders. There’s no one out there you joker! Doctor nickered genuinely, tossing his head and whickering as if he were laughing at her. Lauren giggled quietly to herself, and her eyes lit with a wondrous glow of laughter. She looked over at his stallion as he beckoned the filly to come close, and then warned Doctor. Doctor pinned his ear back, and she firmly tapped his shoulder. He would never dream of harming foals. Lauren knew it as well. She had got him and associated him with the foals on her father’s farm. He would be the only stallion in there with at least ten colts and fillies running around him. He was a sweetheart when it came to foals, and Lauren was debating on getting him a foal companion. After all, Doctor did seem to miss them when Lauren moved out of her father’s house and got a place of her own. She noticed he hadn’t announced his name. Lauren didn’t press the matter. When he wanted to, he could tell her his name. She didn’t bother with it anymore. She smiled at him when he spoke. So, his horses were his favorite subject, and Lauren took this into account. His voice was clearly British, and it sounded nervous and shy. She noticed him smile, and again it was kind but shy. She found it refreshing to be in his presence. After all, it was hard to find a guy who was completely shy and quiet. Normally other people might be awkward and ramble on just to hear someone talk. However, Lauren enjoyed the peace that was between them. She listened to the breathing of Doctor and his stallion, and her eyes would glance down at the filly every so often and she would smile. Having a boyfriend was not always out of the question, but she never had one. She never felt the need to have a man beside her. And not to mention, Doctor would chase off any guy that would come around. Besides, she had been busy with helping her father train ever since she was younger, and she took dance lessons and numerous other things. To fit a guy in her schedule was possible, but it didn’t bother. When a guy came around, then he came around. Whatever happens, happens. Lauren’s eyes lowered to his hand as it entwined itself in his stallion’s mane. He seemed to debate something in his mind as he remained silent. She watched him shake his head no. Lauren just smiled none the less. Really? That’s pretty cool. I just moved here a few days ago. She said, openly. If he wouldn’t talk about himself, then it was fine by Lauren. She smiled and looked down at Doctor as he huffed, but Lauren merely stroked his shoulder. Doctor leaned into it like a dog would, and he nickered gratefully. She gave a quiet laugh before looking at him again. Lauren had soon figured he was slowly becoming mute. It didn’t bother her much at all.
Y’know, you being quiet is… Nice actually. She stated randomly but gave a gentle smile at the end. Her comment wasn’t offensive, and her voice was light and genuine. Lauren gave a small giggle. Bet you never heard that before… She said again, but quieted herself to dwell in the silence once more. She listened to the crickets and the shuffling hooves of their horses. It was beyond nice to ride in the dark. It was much better than the morning in her opinion, but she didn’t really mind it much. Doctor looked curiously to the filly before looking away. He gave a soft nicker before refocusing back on Lauren. His ears twitched with every sound she or anyone else made. Lauren scratched his neck playfully, and Doctor whickered with sheer enjoyment. His eyes bright and filling with complete appreciation with the attention. Lauren smiled at her Thoroughbred, glad that he wasn’t as moody as before.

He was silence once again. His smile had faded and he didn't even breathe loudly. He listened to her horse. Giving the stud a side ways look out of his good eye. His father had taken a knife to his right eyes. Placing a very noticable scar there. One that cut across his eye. He was blind there, now. He hid the scar behind his thick dark black locks of hair. It scared him just to think of it. He cringed away from nothing. Leaning against his horse's neck. Ghost took his movements with good stride. He knew his master was a scared man, something he couldn't help.
She understood him. She was kind and didn't press him on. That made his bravado rise a little. His mind was still running, but he kept his single eye on her. His head resting on Ghost's white crest. His arms around the stud's neck. When you look hard one could see not much of a difference between his stallion's white coat and his pale skin. He kept a straight face. However, slight colour could be seen on his cheeks.
In fact. No one had ever said that in the few months of his silence. She was pretty much the first person he talked to in...months. Loosing his voice in a fight to the death. There was a shrill whinny from Ghost as he called the curious filly back to him. Sun had wandered to the far end of the arena. Trrotting back and forth. Normaly, Ghost would've let her go. But with another stallion here he didn't trust. He would prefer having her close.
The small little horse slowly walked toward them. Her head lower. She thought she was in trouble with Ghost, which was rare. The stallion did scold her at times, but she was an all over good little foal. She walked silently beside Ghost, her head still low.
"No one's told be that before." he said hesitatntly, but his confidence was slowly rising. Still, he lounged against his stallion's neck. "I've only been quiet for a few...months." he hesitated again than quickly turned away. He focused on the crickets and the other noises around him.
What was he doing? Talking! He dug his teeth into his lip and sat up. Still he did not look at Lauren.
