Roxanna felt better than she had in a while. She had taken the day off and slept as much as she possibly could take. At 1:00 in the afternoon, she got up and got ready for the day. An hour later, she stopped in front of the mirror, her make-up bags in front of her. She was pretty, no doubt about that. Maybe someone Sawyer would want to walk beside. Sawyer... Here, in the safety of her room, she could think anything she wanted. And no denying it, she had this crazy crush on a guy she had only met once. But she had had such a connection with him, on her part. He was so easy to talk to.
He was one of those guys who made her want to put on make-up. She blushed at the thought. So, picking up her foundation, she went to work. A full hour later, she stood in front of the mirror, her face really glowing and actually quite breath-taking for the first time. Looking at her hair and face and clothes, she smiled sheepishly and blushed, making her appear bashful. "I didn't know I could look like this."
Wide blue eyes closed and then opened again. She was in her car now and driving to Cafe De Leche. She didn't want to work, but it would be nice to eat there. She opened the door to her red Mustang and walked it and was instantly greeted with warm hellos and smiles. She was speechless. Well what could one say?! Roxanna was a good manager who ran the place with a firm and gentle hand. Everyone around town knew her by now to be hard-working but always sweet and patient. Coming to the counter, she smiled at the girl at the counter. "Hey, girleh! Just give me a blueberry muffin and some wild berrie smoothie!"
Waiting a few moments, she got her muffin and smoothie and dug out a well-worn 10 dollar bill out of her back pocket. Gathering her things, she put the change in her pocket and whirled to go sit at a round table in the chair that flashed the window. Taking a bite of her muffin, she popped open her cell to see a text message. Where r u, babe? Roxxy looked at her found with narrowed eyes. Her Samsung Propel didn't recognize the number, and she wrinkled her nose up in disgust. She texted back, Uh...who is this? Then closed her phone.
Oh, well, she wasn't gonna let it ruin her good morning. She took a drink of her smoothie, the magical mix of blackberries, blueberries, and strawberries making her head spin. It was so good. As she finished her muffin, she heard the door up, the win outside whipping her own signiture rose-scent in her face. "Sawyer!" Her eyes were wide and twinkling merrily.

He smiled, just getting back from a long long long ride. Not that Brit cared how far they went. He wouldn't care if they kept going and going and going and going. The reason he went on this ride was because his friend, Alex arrived that night with his horses in tow. The two friends decided to go for a night ride and catch up on things. Alex rode Brit while Alex rode his mare, Pain (rightfully named). They left the two black stallions in Sawyer's pasture where he kept Breeze and Brit together. Even though the rules stated that all horses be separated by gender.
Alex had told Sawyer his horrible story when Sawyer asked about Layra. The two were always together when she was alive. Sawyer decided he'd help his friend get back on his feet. After living homeless for two years. Life had to be tough. Alex was different. He didn't talk as much and kept to himself. Sawyer had to acknowledge the face that Alex wasn't the same person.
They both crashed in the pasture while they're horses grazed. They took turns watching Pain. She was in a pasture with two stallions. They had to watch her unless they wanted Breeze and Storm to fight over her. It was hard to keep and eye and an ear on the stallions. For Alex he had to watch for them. For Sawyer he had to pick out separate hoof beats. Which wasn't hard, considering he already knew Storm and his Arabian-ness.
They rode again during the day than decided to go get something at the cafe in the afternoon. Sawyer had learned that she was the manager there and maybe he'd be able to see her. Er, hear her. Alex was curios on this girl and wanted to meet her. So, Sawyer hooked up Sparks to his harness and the two were off.
Sparks was a dedicated guide dog but he acted like a police dog around the females. He held his tail and head high and led (dragged) Sawyer around. Alex kept his fingers on the back of Sawyer's hand to tell him that he was still there. Most people would've thought that would look weird until they lay eyes on the dog and Sawyer's glasses. They just kept walking.
Sawyer decided to send a text to Roxxy. Yeah he knew he number. Being the stalker he was. Not that he was stalking her. He just knew more about her than Roxxy thought. Well he sent her the text. Actually made Alex sent the text for him. Alex was now Sawyer's eyes. He didn't want a text he sent himself. If Sawyer did send the text it would probably look more like a difficult math problem than a text.
Alex read him her reply when they walked beside the cafe toward the door. Sawyer chuckled and said he reply while Alex quickly texted. It was just a simple 'Me'. That's when the boys, and dog, walked through the door.
Sawyer heard Roxxy's voice and smiled. Alex sinked into Sawyer's shadow. He barely looked over his shoulder. "Hey, Roxxy." Sawyer said following her voice. Sparks took him around tables and people until they stood beside her table. Sawyer took off his glasses and opened his foggy brown eyes. Sparks began to lick Roxxy's hand. He hoped she didn't forget about the greatest dog on Earth: Him.
Alex didn't mind doing things for Alex when it came for eyes. Sawyer was blind and that couldn't be ignored. He was his friend and currently that only person he trusted. After Layra's murder he kind of fell inside of himself. He didn't trust anyone. But Sawyer trusted this girl, Roxxy, so he'd have to too. He didn't want to, but he would. Maybe get to know her.
When they walked through the door he saw her. He knew it was her when she called Sawyer's name. She was beautiful, he had to admit. Still, he hid behind Sawyer his eyes shooting every which way. People were here. They could stare at him. At Sawyer at Sparks. Not that the dog would care if he got stared at or not. That dog wouldn't care if he got abducted by aliens. As long as the aliens were female. And that the planet they came from was covered in potato salad.
He reluctantly followed Sawyer to where Roxxy was sitting. Sparks immediately licked her hand while Sawyer stared at her with blind eyes. Alex still lay back and said nothing. His heart was pounding and he was uncomfortable.

If Sawyer had been able to see with his own eyes, he probably would've blushed. As he walked through the door, for a few moments there her eyes were bright and filled with adoration. Heck yes, it was true she had a crush on him and with the expression on her face, it was quite easy to tell. But those few seconds were short-lived as she regained control of her automatic response to Sawyer. She felt her cheeks blush and she caught the eye of one of her co-workers. The cashier winked at her and cat-called, walking towards the back of the restaurant into the kitchen giving, "Ow! Foxxeh Roxxeh!"
A teasing smile was on her rose pink lips as she called back to her, "Hah! Shut up! Maybe I'll explain it all latah!" Her southern drawl gave her vocals that unique twang. Hearing his response, she simultaneously felt her phone vibrate on the table. She ignored it and was about to answer Sawyer and a new guy that was obviously accompanying him when she felt Sparks immediately lick her hands. She burst into giggles, and realized once again just how big Sparks really was. With her sitting down, his head was just over the top of her belly button. She smiled at him and spoke softly, like she usually did when she was with animals. Her eyes were exceptionally soft on the Guide dog. "Hey, Sweetheart. Hey, I love and missed you too!"
She bent down to kiss him in the dip between his eyes, like she owned the spot. While rubbing and scratching at various parts of his body, she turned to look at the two young men. "Geez am I happy to see you! I've missed ya." She paused a moment to give him a genuine, soft smile. But then, her clear blue eyes looked his companion and her smile grew warm, friendly, inviting. "Hello! My name's Roxxy. Obviously you're a friend of Sawyer's. I'm happy to meetcha." She cautiously entended a hand, noting the he had earlier look rather uneasy being around people or just public in general. She inwardly decided it was her job to help make him more comfortable.
"Can I get you two anythin'? I work here, so I get a discount!" This brought out that white grin and some chuckles. She looked at this new person and then back to Sawyer and then settled for looking at both of them. Then, she suddenly remembered she had a text. At first, her eyes quickly darted to her phone, then back to the two of them. Back to the phone. Back to them. Back to the phone. She looked at them and rose her left eyebrow up and down then looked at her cell. Me. That's what the text said. Before she thought about it, she said incredulously, "Well, who's me?!" Her expression was the perfection of comedy: wide eyes filled with insatiable curiousity and wonder, mouth ajar slightly, with corners pulling down slightly into a frown, and eyes darting around apprehensively like there could be a 'me' behind every salt and pepper shaker.

Sawyer turned his head to the cat-call. He smiled at Roxxy's reaction before pulling up and chair and sitting down. Alex had to get a chair from another table. Which wasn't a big deal. People did that all the time. He sat in between Sawyer and Roxxy. He still look un easy but looked a little more comfortable since Roxxy spoke.
Saprks's tail wagged until it almost spun. Yeah! Roxxy didn't forget about him. The greatest dog alive. Of course she loved him better than those two human males. Sparks was better because he had fur. All he needed were thumbs. He tilted his heads and gave a quiet whine than licked her chin when she leaned down to kiss him.
Sparks looked back at Sawyer and Alex with a look that clearly said "Be Very VERY Jealous.". Alex couldn't help but manage a laugh. It was quiet laugh but still a laugh. Sawyer just smiled and gave Sparks a good pat on the head. The guide licked Sawyer's hand. He frowned "Ah c'mon. Save the love for the females." he said laughing. Sparks tilted his head. What a weird guy.
"I've missed you, too." He didn't tell her but that's why they decided to come to the cafe. That and get enough caffeine to rule the world! But hey. They were boys. That was the kind of stuff boys did. Uh, the kind of stuff they tried to do. Ruling the world was a priority.
Alex glanced at Roxxy when she introduced herself and extended a hand to shake. He studied her expression for a second. She looked kind and calm. But he also took in everything else. She sure was stunning. He half smiled and hesitantly shook her hand. Her skin was smooth and warm. He than realized she didn't know his name. "I'm Alex." he blurted his voice shaking. Showing signs of shyness and a screwed up history. He prayed she wouldn't ask. He'd just leave and let Sawyer tell her.
What was he gonna tell her if she did ask about his history? "Oh yeah. I had a great past. I was on drugs and my sister got raped and killed right in front of me.". He didn't want to be rude so he would keep his mouth shut if she did happen to ask. But he trusted that she wasn't that type of person to ask too many questions.
He looked to Sawyer. His friend didn't even turn. He sighed and looked down feeling Roxxy's eyes on him, Sawyer, and Sparks. I have to trust her. I have to trust her. he kept telling himself while biting his lower lip. "He's pretty shy but a great guy once you get to know him." Sawyer said in his normal happy Sawyer-y tone that could brighten up anyone's day. Except Alex. Being in public was really hard for him. He wanted to go back to the ranch and ride Pure. He hoped she was doing alright with the two stallions. The black stallions probably wouldn't try anything stupid unless they wanted to get kicked somewhere important.
Sawyer smiled at her offer. "Well--" he started then Alex's head shot up, "Don't worry. I'll get us something. No need to spend anything on us. Thanks for the offer though." he said getting up and scooting away to the counter quickly. Sawyer looked after him with a look of sympathy. He sure did change. At first Sawyer didn't know who he was when he arrived at the ranch with both his horses.
Poor Pure had everything packed on her back like a mule. While Storm felt like he was about to lay down and die. Sawyer helped with the horses in the pasture while Alex moved into the spare bedroom.
A good day's rest and the two horses looked better enough to run. Sawyer could almost see the two horses in pain but he could only hear them and feel them. He turned back to Roxxy after thinking silently and listening to the mummers of voices in the cafe. Sparks stirred from under the table, groaning.
"So, what have you been doing besides working?" he asked breaking the silence. He was curios. He hadn't heard Roxxy around the ranch much. Especially with Black.
Alex returned with two lattes and a bagel. He gave Sawyer the decaf. Never EVER give Sawyer caffeine unless you want the world to explode. He sat down and tapped Sawyer's hand twice. He looked up and nodded. "Thanks, Alex." he said
Alex smiled when Roxxy read the text. He nudged Sawyer's knee. They both looked down at the same time while Sawyer slipped his Blackberry into Alex's open hand. Alex knew what he was gonna text. He looked down as if trying to avoid eye contact. Which was common. Sawyer focused on his coffee than sighed "Why didn't I get the caffeine." he muttered sheepishly. Alex snorted while his fingers trailed quickly over various numbers "You didn't get caffeine because I'm not ready for the world to blow up." he snickered while Sparks crawled under Sawyers chair and lay his massive head on his paws.
Alex read over the text one last time before hitting send. It read: 'Me' is one of the two boys sitting next to you.. Alex handed the blackberry back to Sawyer who slipped the phone into his pocket.

Roxxy looked at him with concern apparent in her clear blue eyes. Poor sweetie, something must've happened in his life. No one is that shy without good reasons. She sighed inwardly and then looked at Sawyer, hearing his question. She answered him with a smile. "Well, other than working here, I spend the rest on my time working with Black. I don't eat much and I don't get much sleep. Actually, today is the first time I've actually gotten sleep and eaten in three days." She paused, giving a thoughtful silence. Then, she made an announcement that made her eyes brighten and glow. "Oh, Sawyer! Guess what?! I sold Chasing the Stars! You know a Jenn Stevenson? Well, she bought him for showing, so he's still at Shady Lane!"
Her expression made her clear blue optics even bluer and they were filled with triumph. And for Sawyer, who couldn't see her features, smugness consumed her vocals. Her cerulean visionaries looked at Alex as he handed Sawyer the decaf. Being quiet and listening to them talk, she burst into that melodic laughter that she was known so well for. "Thank you Alex! Even though I've only met Sawyer once before today, I know that he's like me. Give me caffeine any day and I'll blow ya away!" She chuckled at this and then her phone vibrated again. This time, irritation came through her tones in a growl. "Hold on a sec-" She was cut off as she read the text. Her head snapped up and she looked at them quizzically.
Then, a broad grin was written on her smooth features and she started laughing. At first it was low and slow, then it went louder until it was that cheerful, throaty, rich laughter. She figured it out. When her laughter died down, she leaned back in her chair, a lop-sided grin on her mouth. "Babe? So when do I get to give you a pet-name, Sawyer? You and yer lil' accomplice here." She mockingly scoffed at him, then let out quiet chuckles. Despite her playful exterior, she was shrieking on the inside.
He, well Alex, called me babe! Oh, well, I'm gettin' too 'head of myself....dangum you hormones! But still... Inwardly, (thank goodness she didn't let it show) she was absolutely melting. But she knew that it was just Alex playing around with Sawyer. Probably didn't even tell him what he had sent her. Wait...how did he-OMG he asked for my number from someone! Oh, well, I'm not asking....mwahaha. Lemme just flirt. Internally, she snickered but was absolutely giddily. Settling back in her seat, she arched an eyebrow and crossed her arms across her chest, her pink lips purse a little, but the corners of her mouth were turned upwards in the slightest beginnings of a smile.

Black...Haven't heard him screaming for a few days. Even when Breeze is in the pasture. Damn. I hope he hasn't noticed Pure yet. Strom and Breeze would throw a fit. That was another thing that he had to say. "I hope Black hasn't noticed Pure yet." he sighed. Alex had his sisters journal on the table. Sawyer could hear the scratching of his pen on the paper. Then he looked up from his writing and raised an eyebrow. "Black. That's the beautiful black stallion that showed off to my mare yesterday. Right?" he asked. Sawyer grunted then gave a quick nod and gave a piece of bagel to Sparks who sat up and began to beg.
Jenn Stevenson? Why did her name sound familiar. He racked his brain for information than the lightbulp lit up. Jenn, that was the girl he met the other day. "Yeah I've met her. So, you'll still be able to ride him?" he asked with a wide smile
June 19, 2009. 1:30 PM.
Well, it shows that she likes horses. Maybe I could get to know her. Everyone who loves horses are good people. In my opinion. Sawyer seems like like her. He seems to like her a lot. But, who am I to judge. They're alike in many ways. I'm still wary of her though. Something about her is strange. Maybe she's just a little too nice.
She knows something about me. Just the way she looks at me. It's weird. Well, I'll trust her. But like with most people, I'll stay on my toes.
He closed the smooth leather journal after skimming through pages Layra wrote. Most of them were about him. When she found the Marijuana she wrote. Planned even. She only wanted the best.
He knew next time to give Sawyer and Roxxy caffeine at the same time. He wondered what they would do. Deep inside there was still the old Alex. The no-good devil who liked to cause people pain. That's why he added 'Babe' and the end of the first text. He was just messing with Sawyer's mind.
When she mentioned the pet name than Sawyer the look on his face almost cracked Alex up. Sawyer raised an eyebrow with a look that said "What?" Alex lowered his head to avoid Roxxy seeing the gleam in his eye.
"What! I didn't---Alex." Sawyer hissed through clenched teeth. He turned toward the evil minded friend and snarled "Vous ne savez pas combien je veux pour vous poinçonner en ce moment." he bit his lip. Second languages came in handy Especially when it came to a threat. Which Sawyer often gave to Alex. Hopefully he had French class in high school.
"Man, I don't speak French but, knowing you you're probably gonna punch me in the face. Aren't you?" Alex said quietly keeping away from Sawyer's sightless glare. "Well, Roxxy. Let me tell you that you don't need to give me a pet name unless you really want to. And that I wasn't the one who called you 'babe'." Sawyer explained looking apologetically at Roxxy before turning his gaze back to Alex. "Yes, I do want to punch you in the face. It's been three years so I think you deserve one. And yes, be glad you don't speak French. You'll be surprised at what you hear." he snorted
Sawyer did want to teach Alex not to take advantage of him. That he really knew how to fight. But, since he was a nice guy he'd hit him like an hour or two. Right in between the eyes SMACK! He smirked at the idea than his smile returned. He didn't know if Roxxy was a fan of revenge, but she could try taking revenge on the devil. AKA, Alex.

Roxxy's eyes dimmed at the thought of her stallion. After she had gotten cleaned up, she had talked to the vet to see if they could give her tranquilizers for the stallion. He had been heavily drugged for the last few days, almost a whole week since the day she had been viciously attacked by her own stallion. Roxanna was a lot quieter from then on into the conversation, her eyes dull and sullen looking. She watched Alex's interaction with Sawyer. They had a chemistry, like they had been friends for a very long time, like childhood friends could only have. She smiled softly, her spirits visibly dampened.
But she did let out a some quiet giggles at Sawyer's sudden infuriation at Alex and heard his French. She cleared her throat in her hand and looked at her guy friend, "Excuse yer French, boooy!" She gave a small smile and then returned to her unusual solemn, serious mood. She chuckled again, murmuring in a whisper, "Usted es ridÃculo! Alex es un genio y Sawyer es sólo un peón en su parcela para la dominación del mundo. Tan triste. Oh, bueno, es bastante divertido." She rolled her eyes in that teasing manner, then settled into silence, letting them talk.
When their speech stopped, she sighed heavily, like a huge burden had just been put on her shoulders. She leaned forward and put her elbows and forearms on the table, her hands lacing together, and her blue eyes intense. "To answer your questions, that is my horse...Sawyer, it happened." She paused, her brow furrowing making deep creases between her eyes, her arched eyebrows almost making a V. "Black attacked me about a week ago. I-I knew it was coming, but I was hoping that I wouldn't have been a victim. I had turned my back on Hell to pet another stallion that was being lead by the round pen. When I turned back around, I knew something was wrong. He was way too intense..."
Her voice shook a little. 'Gosh, I've never seen him that mad since he was being abused at the auction grounds. He- here." She moved her hair away from her shoulders to reveal a large circle of stitches. The area was as large as Sawyer's hand and was on the pennicle of her shoulder. It covered some of her upper arm. She gentle took Sawyer's fingers in her hand the traced the long trail of stitches. "He laid me open to the bone. And he got my left thigh muscle. He kicks hard."
Giving Sawyer back his hand, her brow was still furrowed, like she was in deep concentration. "Ever noticed he hadn't been screaming? Or being like the Horse from Hell? He got so bad that I had to order tranquilizers from the vet's. He's been on 'em this whole week, since he attacked." She finished, folding her arms on the table and propping her chin on them, looking at them, her clear blue eyes open but seeing nothing.

"Yeah, excuse your French." Alex said poking Sawyer's shoulder. He looked like he was about to explode. His eyes were narrowed and a hard intense stare directed at Alex. Alex rolled his eyes than sighed. Before remembering to say "I'm rolling my eyes, Sawyer.". Yeah, you had to tell him what you were doing or he'd just stare at you blankly. Sawyer tilted his head at Roxxy's Spanish but Alex snickered.
Than the mood changed. Roxxy's eyes became hard. Was it something they did? He looked at his friend. Sawyer seemed to notice to mood change. He was weird like that. Now both boys were staring at her with looks of concern. Even Sawyer's usually expressionless eyes showed emotion. His face was blank and had a dark look swept over.
That's when Sawyer's expression change from concern to sheer horror. Alex was confused at the most. He was quiet as he listened to what Roxxy had to say. Her horse attacked her? What kind of horse was this stallion? He bit his lip. He didn't say it but, honestly, he would've put the horse down. If either one of his horses attacked and almost killed him. He would defiantly put them down. For the sake of his life and the lives of others.
Alex stared in terror at the stitches on her shoulder and arm. Black did that to her? A new respect grew for her and her horse. He felt almost....protective. He didn't like it when people got hurt by a horse. He didn't like it when people got hurt, period.
Sawyer's heart almost stopped when she said Black attacked her. He was filled with relief that she actually lived. He was horror struck and said nothing. He was the only one able to touch Black, except Roxxy. And now he knew what that stallion could really do. His hand pulled itself into a fist. His eyes were wide, his mouth ajar.
When she took his hand and traced over the stitches. He felt even more worried for her. He was actually screaming in his head. WHY HER! he howled angrily. But on the outside he was just a statue. His muscles were tense and he didn't even move. Alex tapped his hand in assurance but Sawyer just sat there.
His head fell into his hands. Deep in thought he shook his head muttering softly. Quiet enough to where neither Alex nor Roxxy would be able to make out what he was saying.
Tranquilizers were a good idea. He knew that Roxxy loved him too much to put him down, even if it meant putting her own life at risk again. He sighed and slowly reached across the table searching for her hand. Instead he found her arm and gently placed his hand there.
Still avoiding everyone's gaze he said quietly, "You're ok though?" he asked his voice filled with different emotions. Fear, worry, relief, and even a little demanding. He had to know if she was ok. If she was hurt anywhere else. Sawyer was one of those people that would die for his friends.
Sparks padded up to Roxxy and lay his head on her lap and looked up at her with the famous. Puppy-dog eyes. She was unhappy, everyone was unhappy. But she was! Why was his lady friend unhappy? He didn't like it when his lady friend was unhappy. He wanted her to be cheerful. He'd make it all better. He always did.

The young woman's features which gave hint to Cherokee lineage turned soft, her eyes still dim, but not so pained. Her gaze darted to his hand soft on her arm, her chin just centimeters up and to the right of it. She smiled softly at him and patted his hand. "I'll be okay, sweetie. My vet told me that he shouldn't have another attack like that....again...for a while." Her eyes were pleading, horrified at the thought of another attack, but then her light blue eyes cleared and she was once again the calm person...maybe a little too calm. It was hard to diffuse the tension and anger after she had just told some people that she had been attacked.
"I am once again in debt with the hospital, so you can imagine, I was very well taken care of. My leg has a deep bruise, his hoof sent enough force to bruise the marrow inside the bone, but I can still walk, without a cast. The doc said if I had been in direct force of the kick that I wouldn't have walked for at least a year. And as for my shoulder...they took good care of that, being as they 'didn't want to ruin my beautiful skin'." She chuckled. "I'll be lucky if I have a thin pink scar." She smiled, and put her head back down on her folded arms. She sighed and then picked up her head.
She sat back up and propped herself on her elbows, her fingers kneading her temples. "Honestly, I don't know what to do with him. Oh! I've bred him with a beautiful Thoroughbred mare. She's a Triple Crown winner, excellent pedigree. I'm thinking the foal will be black bay being as Black's own homozygous black genes run deep." She sighed and closed her eyes. "I've got to train him, harder obviously. I've gotten him used to the saddle blanket, but that's as far as I've gotten. I lunge him everyday when I get off of work. I spend five hours with him ev'ryday, whether I get sleep or not. It's so bad, he's so violent. I just wish he could focus his energy....I dream of racing him. He'd be good."
She put her hands on her life and gently laid her forehead on the table. But she snapped back up to a straightened position, her wavy black brown tresses flying through the air, bathing them in a rose-petal scent, landing on her back. "Ow, that hurt. Ain't doin' that again." She grimaced, her profile exposed as she turned her neck to look at her stitched shoulder. "But enough about me! What about you guys? How's Brit and meh Breezey boy? And you're horses too!" She flashed Alex a smile, trying to help calm the tension she had caused.
She took a moment to listen to her surroundings. She grinned like a Cheshire cat when she heard her favorite song, Burn It To the Ground by Nickelback.
She closed her eyes and savored the rocking, pumping beats of the song.
Well, it's midnight Damn right, we're wound up too tight. Gotta fistful of whiskey, The bottle just bit me. Oh, that shit makes me, Bat shit crazy
We got no fear, no doubt All in, balls out We're going off tonight To kick out every light Take anything we want Drink in every sight We'll go until the world stops turning While we burn it to the ground tonight.

Sawyer smiled and heaved a huge sigh. She was ok, that was good. He'd hate to see her hurt. (Yes, see) He smiled and took his hand back. "That's good. You had me worried." he said not thinking much of her calling him 'Sweetie'. He actually thought it was sweet at it made him feel good.
Meanwhile. Alex was choking back laughter. He held his hand over his mouth, covering a wide grin. He didn't see what Sawyer was doing. It was so funny! Roxxy called him sweetie! Not that Alex should've thought much of it But Alex knew Sawyer within Sawyer. The look that Roxxy would see would just be a calm collected face but, what Alex saw was a face that was like "OMG, That's so sweet I just wanna kiss you right now" Not that Sawyer would actually go that far unless Roxxy kissed him first.
That brought back memories. He remembered the las time he made that hidden face. It was directed at his sister and later that day he found Sawyer and her behind the barn making out..or something like that. That had to be the funniest thing in the world. But after Sawyer saw Alex he had to run for his life. Even though he was blind. That kid could run so fast and jump over things like he could see. But his legs were long and could really move.
When Alex finally caught his friend Sawyer was too tired for a fight. So, it was Layra herself who punched Alex in the nose. Sawyer and Layra always had a, more than friends relationship. Maybe that's why Sawyer actually cried when he told him she was killed. One thing Alex knew: Sawyer wasn't one to cry much. But he was a big softy that let his emotions show. Besides. How could Sawyer actually squeeze tears out of his eyes. Did blind people cry much?
Alex was so lost in thought for that slit second that a sharp pain in his shoulder surprised him. He looked over at Sawyer who had a devilish look on his face. Alex let out a small yelp of pain and flinched back away from Sawyer who sneered. "Who's Mr. Tough guy now?" Alex cursed under his breath and snorted "I'll get you back. Don't you worry. But. You have one hell of a punch." he rubbed his now sore shoulder blade. Sawyer's punches=Ow. Noted.
He was lucky he didn't punch him in the face. Still, Alex took it like a man and joked about it. "Thank you." Sawyer said proudly rotating his wrist to get feeling back. "You have a hard shoulder." He could almost hear Alex's half smile when he spoke "Why thank you."
They both turned back to Roxxy when she spoke again. Debt? That meant she was pretty banged up. If she'd asked Sawyer would've helped her pay it off. He'll just wait. "What part of your leg did he kick?" he asked, curios. He didn't know. He didn't know if he actually wanted to know. Still, he asked. Too late to take it back now.. The thought of her not being able to walk for a year sent ice up his spine. He jaw was tight as he listened carefully. Daring not to picture what she described. It was hard.
His tight posture loosened when she mentioned breeding Black. He smiled and chuckled "Who's keeping the foal?" he asked but was pacing back and forth in his head. There was going to be two Black's? Wasn't one enough. Even though the thought of carrying the powerful stallion's genes down was good.
Could Black be trained? Sawyer didn't think so. But didn't mean she couldn't try. For the first time in a while, Alex spoke up "Training a horse huh?" he said thoughtfully. Sawyer's head shot up "No!" he snarled "Alex, say anything more and I will bite your arm off." he huffed followed by silence. Alex returned to whatever he was doing.
Sawyer turned his attention back on Roxxy. He thought about what she was saying and flinched when she said "ow". He leaned back in his seat and sighed "Nothing's really been going on with me since we last saw each other." he explained with a quiet, now relaxed voice.
Alex looked up "The funnest thing that's happened to me was watch Breeze get beat up by a stallion a whole hand shorter than him. That and learning how much of a neat freak Sawyer is." he laughed shakily returning the smile. "I'm not a neat---No wait. I am. But I like to know where everything is." Sawyer pursed his lips than sighed. Alex couldn't blame him. If he was blind than he'd be like Sawyer and keep everything clean.

Roxxy looked at him with curiousity in her eyes. She didn't understand why he was so ice-cold about the fact that Alex was interested in what she was doing, training Black. She arched and eyebrow, but said nothing. She went into a flit of chuckles at their small playfight. She actually flinched when he punched Alex so suddenly. She smiled. That one looked like it hurt. "I got kicked a couple or so inches just below my left hipbone. I have really bad nerve-ending damage. So I lose feeling in it every so often. But don't worry! They said it should all heal, but I should take it easy."
She chuckled meticulously. There were traces of nervousness laced inside her casual laughter. "But the thing is...I gotta break him in soon. Very soon. Like in two days time, soon. So I'm not gonna exactly take it easy." Roxxy yawned and murmured, "Ain't that gonna be fun." She turned the other way, looking anywhere but at the boys. "Well, that's good! Peaceful, right? I-" She was abruptly cut off as her phone started playing, "Fire Burning". She looked at it with a furrowed brown, her blue eyes skeptical. But then, they went wide with excitement. A Cheshire cat grin was on her face, her expression exuberant. "Hey, guys. I haveta take this one! I'll be back in a few minutes, mkay?"
Without bothering for an answer, she got up, and with the noticable limp, she made her way for the door to stand just outside. She began to talk, her jaw bones moving up and down rapidly. "Leelyn?! Leelee!" She exhaled listening to her sister talk, apparently she was as excited as Roxxy was. "HEY ROXXY!!! Oh, my...I'm sorry, I'm just so excited, I haven't seen you in forev-" "Naw, it's okay haus! Dude, where've you been? Leelyn...I'm sorry I left, but I...after I got out of juvy...I had ta go." There were tears building up in Roxxy's voice, and they were threatening to come out and mess up her make-up. "Baby, I know! Please, don't cry! I understand, I do! Really. But that's not what I called for...Roxxy, guess where I am?" Roxxy thought for a second, and asked in a mockingly excited voice, "OOOH! Antarctica?! No, no! China! No...Oh, I know!" Her voice went from the playful excited to monotonous. "Alabammy."
Her little sister's words and tones made Leelyn burst into hearty laughter. Roxanna was laughing her throaty, full laughter too. When she could actually say words, she noticed the background noise and became curious. "Well, I know you're driving!" The laughter burst into giggles, as Leelyn said in a soft voice, tones ringing in her merriment, "Baby girl...I'm in Kentucky. I'm headin' towards Cafe De Leche." She went quiet awaiting the outburst that she knew was coming back from her little sister. Roxxy was speechless. She actually almost dropped but grappled with it all the way down to snatch it swiftly around her knee. Shakily, putting back to her ear, she spoke.
Dammit. She was gonna ruin her eyeliner and make-up. The day she finally wears it. Oh, wait. She put waterproof eye make-up on. She's so smart. Having those thoughts going through her head, she let the tears come out, the emotion in her voice quite evident. "Leelee...you're coming to visit me?" Her voice was more like a squeak that normal voice words. Once again, Leelyn chuckled. "Babehgirl, I'm living with you. We're gonna live in a bigger house. Roxxy, I got money. Lotsa money. I've been working on my shows, I got a job already. Oh, gosh, Roxxy-baby, don't cry!"
Nevertheless, Roxxy was crying. She felt like she had been a stranger up here from the get go. She had missed her family. And now, her sister was coming to her?! This was a miracle! "I'm sorry, Leelyn. I'm just...so happy...so very happy." She was smiling through her tears, and she was wiping them away hurriedly. Thank goodness for waterproof cosmetics. "I know baby! So am I...I just can't cry because I'm driving. I'm about fifteen minutes away. So, just go back inside and do whatever you were doin'. I'll be there in a few. Promise. I ain't pullin' yer chain." She knew that Roxxy was not gonna say anything, but just shake her head numbly, too happy for words. Sighing happily, she hung up, and concentrated on her driving.
Sliding her phone closed, she put a broad grin on her face and she walked back through the doors, but she had a very, very unusual high-bounce to her step. She looked like she was on cloud nine. Someone who looked at her, and would instantly be confused. Her bright blue eyes were glassy and she had tear-stains on her cheeks. But her aura radiated exuberance, complete happiness. Sitting back down in her seat after the ten minutes she had been talking on the phone in front of the two boys. She didn't say a word, but her expression told all. She was basically jumping up and down in her seat.

The two boys exchanged looks and nodded at Roxxy. "Go on, we'll be here." Sawyer leaned back and rotating his neck around making it pop. He listened and stared after her as she left. Wonder who she's talkin' to. he thought leaning back wraping his cool fingers around his Latte. By the sound of her voice, it had to be either family or friend. That'd be cool. He smiled and streatched.
"So, you like Roxxy?" Alex asked shifting around in his chair. "I mean, Like like." he frowned trying to make sense of what he was saying. Sawyer sighed "I like her as a friend." he chuckled. Alex rolled his eyes and didn't even tell Sawyer "Riiiiiight." he joked flinching away from Sawyer balled fists. Instead, the two exchanged glances than burst into quiet laughter. Enough to where they didn't disturb other people around them.
Sawyer and Alex sat back to back chuckling. The two friends, after not seeing each other for three years were "Catching up" Sawyer finally not to punch him. Not where he wanted but still. Sparks came out from where he was resting under Roxxy's chair and came up beside the laughing boys and licked their hands.
Alex strocked his head and chuckled "Yeah we love you too. " he said. The massive dog wagged his tail, panting. He really needed to get a dog. He couldn't when he was dirt poor and always on the move. Now he was with his filthy rich blind friend! Time to get a dog. Sparks would love it. Especially if it was a female. But the poor girl wou;d be in a house full of single men. She'd be overwhelmed. Just like Pain who had to deal with Breeze and Storm. Those stallions were desperate. Actually, it seemed that every male on the planet were desperate.
Alex didn't want to get into a relationship, but if he did meet a nice girl that understood him. Maybe he'd consider the "more than friends" phase.
Sawyer fell silent. He looked down at the table. Running his fingers over its smooth granet surface. He pictured the different colours and patterns. Greys, browns, blacks. All his favourite mixtures.
Roxxy's sudden apperence made Sawyer jump. He wasn't paying attention to the sounds around him. He looked up and tilted his head while Alex stared into space. His hand moved itself around Spark's body.
"So, who was that? You keep moving around like this and you're going to shoot yourself to the moon." Sawyer said just to strike up conversation. He placed his elbows on the table and nudges Alex back into attention.

Roxxy burst out, that goofy grin plastered onto her face. And what she said sounded extremely, extremely Southern. "Leelyn's acummin!" The next thing that could be heard was her hand slapping across her gaping mouth. After a few moments, that flush of bright red in her face. She giggled with embarrassment as she looked down at the table. "I can't believe I sounded like that." She looked at the table like she could find an answer to her problems written there. But still, the minor embarrassment was not going to ruin her good mood in any way.
"Leelyn is coming to live here! She's like really rich now and she's gonna help me! She bought a new house and she's...well, she's coming to live with me....or actually, I'm going to live with her. Anyways! The important thing is, she's here to see me! And she's gonna be here, soon!" She grinned from ear to ear looking incredibly smug. "I haven't seen or talked to her in a year." At this fact, she looked rather sad. But then she perked up. "She's a lot on me....but Imma warn ya...she flirts a heck of a lot more 'an I do." At this, she went into a fit of quiet giggles. That's when that familiar flash of blonde hair got her gaze.
"What the hell....?" Her voice trailed off as a cherry red Corvette pulled beside Roxxy's red Mustang. When the expensive car rolled to a stop, the door opened to reveal bare, tan legs, definitely in shape. Stiletto heels. Roxxy gave a lop-sided grin. "Well, she's got better style than I do too." Then, the beach blonde bent out and stood up beside her car, closing the door. She was wearing a denim mini-skirt, showing off long tan legs. On top, she had on a maroon tank top. Her hair was down and styled not unlike Roxxy's own.
As she opened the door, her stilettos were heard in that famous staccato beat. Roxxy squealed in excitement, "Leelyn! Oh geeze, ya still smell like lavender." She was up out of her chair and hopping towards the pretty browned eyed blonde. Of course, Leelyn was ecstatic to see her! She went into a trot to meet her sister halfway. She gave her a tight hug, her head missing two inches from being just as tall as her sister. She didn't let go, as she closed her eyes shut, enjoying the moment. When she talked, it sounded like she was about sing a country song, beautiful and harmonious. "Hey Roxxy-baby. I missed ya, hun." Then, she let go and she had tears in her eyes. Roxxy did too. They simultaneously wiped each other's tears away.
This made them erupt into laughter, their sounds lacing together to make an incredibly melodious duet. Holding hands, they joined the table. Roxanna, who felt energized, launched the introduction. "Leelyn, this is Sawyer. He's meh awesome blind friend. And this is Alex! Sawyer's friend." She smiled proudly. Roxxy's been busy.....very busy. She smiled at them and winked at Alex, being as he could see. She smiled and chuckled, "Hey, cuties!" Her tones were flirtatious. She saw Roxxy turn beet red. "Aw, honey, didn't mean to embarrass ya. I'm sure they knew I was playing."
Meanwhile, she mouthed to Alex and Sawyer, "No, I'm not." And shook her head. Roxxy was mortified and once again rendered speechless. She had forgotten just how....flamboyant her older sister was. She arched and eyebrow and looked at her, but couldn't help but smile. She was met by Leelyn's own smile. "Alright. Sure they do." She chuckled and then stole a chair from nearby vacant table. "You can have my seat." Obligingly, she watched Leelyn take her seat, take a drink of her smoothie and slide it across the table to her. She really didn't want to embarrass her little sister any more, so she quit with her charming comments. "So, what's up guys?"
Leelyn wasn't surprised Roxxy was having a casual conversation with two amazing-looking guys. Sometimes, she felt the need to slap Roxanna's head around a little, so she would realize her own appearance.

Sawyer had to write this all down. He chuckled at the accent that had suddenly made itself clear. He tried to figure out who Leelyn might be. By the sound of her voice he guessed sister. She had a sister? He smiled and nodded He liked it that she was so exited.
He heard the sound of an engine cut off and air rushing through Alex as his jaw dropped. "Damn, Sawyer that Corvette is almost as nice as your Mercedes." Sawyer snorted and smiled "Nothing's as nice as my Mercedes." he said almost laughing. Yeah. The blind boy had a black '08 S600 Guard and nothing could ever beat it..
Alex sunk down into his chair when he saw the owner of the red work of art. Sawyer was staring blankly at nothing. Alex leaned toward him and whispered "Blond, rocking body, brown eyes. That's all you need to know." Sawyer raised an eyebrow and nodded. By the look hidden in Sawyer's collected expression he was interested to know more.
He shut his mouth and waited. Sawyer waved casually when Roxxy introduced them. He was clearly proud of himself for Roxxy calling him awesome. While Alex was just Sawyer's sidekick. Alex just blushed. He studied her features. Skin tone, hair colour, everything. But said nothing. It wasn't everyday a cute girl walked in and began to flirt with, who had to be the shyest man on the planet. His face turned bright pink. He managed a smile than looked away.
He looked over at Sawyer. His cheeks were a little pink. But Alex's looked like he'd been hung upside down for six hours than put through the rinse cycle in the dishwasher. He ran a hand through his messy brown hair and took a few deep breaths. His free hand fiddling with the small horse head charm on his sister's silver necklace.
Sawyer sat up chuckling as Sparks went over to sniff Leelyn's legs and sit on her feet. The dog wagged his tail tail and looked up at her with big amber eyes. That look that made everyone but Sawyer bow down to him. The tip of his ears came up to her waist. Sawyer's blind gaze returned to the two girls. "So, you two sisters?" not realizing he said the "S" word right in front of Alex. Say "sister" in front of him and he'd have a nervous breakdown. Alex just looked down and sighed.
Not know what else to say. Both boys just watched with interest.

Roxxy looked at Alex and Sawyer. She went into spasms of laughter especially at Alex's red face. She looked at Leelyn, winked at her, and got a sly wink in return. She leaned over and whispered in her sister's ear, her long neck displaying tendons at the slight movement. "Sawyer is mine." It was low so no one but Leelyn could hear. A Cheshire cat grin spread slowly upon her pretty face when Leelyn heard. She looked at her and said in her country vocals, "Alright honey....we could go tonight." She had to cover up any suspicious thoughts that might've come up in the guys' heads.
Looking at them, her nostrils flared giving way to chuckles. She looked at Roxanna and then back at them. "Well, we're-" Simultaneously, Roxxy and Leelyn said, "half-sisters." This made them let out chuckles, the duo's laughter blending well to make its own song. "I am 17, fixing to turn 18. Leelyn with be 19 for several more months. Leelyn is from my dad's first marriage. I'm from his current one." Roxxy announced happily. Leelyn grinned another white grin. "Yeah. Don't think it bad though. Vivian, Momma, helped my dad. My biological mother died when she gave birth to me." Despite the saddening words, they had no effect on her. Knowing what was probably going through the mens' minds, she reassured them.
"Cain't miss somethin' you never had! Besides, Vivian is a great Momma. She is my mom. She's the only one I've known. Anyways, she gave me Roxxy." She paused giving her little sister a loving, adoring look. Roxxy blushed but quickly returned the look. She looked back up at Alex and Sawyer, absent-mindedly flipped her hair off injured shoulder and was about to say something, she was consulted by unbelievably venomous tones. Leelyn's soft gaze was still on her sister when she flipped her hair off her shoulder. Immediately red-hot anger shot through her. Her brown eyes blazed and her nostrils flared, her teeth bared with pink lips tightened so thin they were white.
"ROXANNA KENSLI HOLIS, WHAT THE HELL HAPPENED TO YOU?!" Her wrath was eminent now. Immediately she jumped to assumptions. But her voice was just a smidge soft now so that the people in the cafe wouldn't overhear as much. "Did that fucker Dimitri touch you again? I'll light his ass on fire! He promised he wouldn't touch you again!" The blonde's ferocity was evident in her body and voice and expression, but her hands were soft upon the stitches. In combat, Leelyn was the only one who was liable to kick Roxxy's butt. They were equal, so sometimes Roxxy won or Leelyn. But the difference is that it took emotion for both of them to fight and Leelyn was a hell of a lot easier to make angry.
She flinched at her words. She had hoped, prayed to God that no one in her new life wouldn't even hear the name Dimitri. She didn't feel anger at her sister, for her protectiveness, she just felt stung, sad. She said meekly, her voice shaky with oncoming tears. "No, Leelee...I just...fell." She was lying to her, covering for somebody. Her voice was low now, dangerously low. "Damn, Roxxy! Tell me the truth, 'cause that's some bullshit." Her tones were seething. Roxanna looked at her and wiped the small tears that had flooded her eyes. "I told you...I fell. You know how I am. I was on my apartment's roof, enjoying the sunset, you know, like we used to do. Then, I just...fell. Gardening spade. What can I say? I'm sorry, Leelee."
Leelyn heard the waver in her voice, knew it was another lie. She was definitely protecting someone. But she let it go. For right now. She hated seeing her little sister upset, especially when she caused it. She sighed and calmed her temper. Her and Roxxy were complete opposites when it came to losing control. She lost her temper fast, but could cool it even quicker. Roxxy was very slow to anger and could be furious for days upon end. She exuded apologies from her aura now. "I'm sorry, guys. I'm just worried about her." Her long lashes fluttered closed for a moment, then she went into a playful smile and snatched the smoothie, to take a long drink of it. Roxxy looked at her, once again playful. She gaped at her older sister, her eyes wide with disbelief.
"What the crap, Leelyn?!" She snatched her smoothie back from her tan fingers of her sister. "BAM! Whatcha think about that now?!" She finished up the smoothie before Leelyn could snatch it some more. Looking back up to see her sister's critical gaze on her, she gave Leelyn a quizzical stare. There was a moment of silence. Leelyn's voice was thoughtful. "Hmmm. I think that that should be taken to the Tailgate, tonight. How long it been since you been gone clubbin', Roxxy?" She chuckled, that knowing smile and twinkle in her eyes. Roxxy frowned and looked anywhere but at the people at her table. Her light blue eyes went from the ceiling to the wall, to the counter when she finally muttered. "Two...years..."
She cleared her thoat and looked Sawyer and Alex and whispered, "Help me! If I go down, you guys are comin' with me!" Meanwhile, Leelyn was sitting back in her chair, toned and bronzed limbs crossed with a triumphant smirk on her face.

Hafl sisters, parents, death! It was all too much fro Alex. He stood up. The colour washed away from his face when he stod up. He looked at the three and frowned "Will you three give me a minute?" he said with a dark voice. "I'm going to uh. Take Sparks out." he said taking hold of the guide dog's harness and leading him away Sparks willingly followed his whip-like tail spinning.
With the door closed behind him Alex felt like screaming. The two girls were so lucky to have each other. While Alex re lived that night over and over again. The gun shot rang in his ears, still. Sparks sat at Alex's feet whining.
Sawyer looked at after Alex and muttered, "Damnit." He shouldn't have mentioned sisters. Now with him being around a pair of close sisters probably reminded Alex of his relationship with Layra. He was such an idiot. With a sigh he shook the thought away and listened to the pair laugh and talk. But he kept an ear out for his dog and friend.
He spaced out during Leelyn's explosion. The whole world turned into a foggy graveyard of old thoughts and it even brought back sights. When Sawyer could see. He lay his head on the table. Until he heard the door. Sparks trotted up to Sawyer and put his wet nose to Sawyer's face. Almost asleep Sawyer's head shot up and he spat out "The Monkey ate my fruit salad!" he took a couple of breaths and his eyes darted around.
Alex sat down "Who's the monkey. Your brother?" he asked patting Sawyer's shoulder. That meant scoot over. Sawyer slid a few inches to the right. "Naw, Robert's the pig. He eats like one." Sawyer laughed slapping a high five with Alex who laughed with him. "He looks like one, too. How much do you feed him, Sawyer?" he asked.
"I'll feed him what he'll eat. Which is pretty much what he can fit his mouth around." the both said at the same time. "You're lucky you know how to cook." Alex snickered. Sawyer snorted "Know how to cook! I could be a French chef if I wanted to.."
Alex frowned "No, You'd better stick with nice cars and lots of money." he chuckled. They both forgot when Leelyn mentioned the Tailgate and that they had to go with them. They both looked at each other and smiled. They moved leaned toward the two girls "So, you want two guys like us." Alex started before Sawyer smiled "Who aren't even old enough to go but don't care anyway." they exchanged glances again. "To go to the tailgate with probably the two prettiest girls on the planet?" Alex finished their little speech before they smiled "We're in! Take us prisoner or whatever." they both laughed nodding.

Roxanna looked at them, and to put it quite bluntly turned an unwholesome shade of maroon. She looked at them and said in an agonized whisper, "Traitors!" Then, she put her head in her hands and groaned loudly, "You guys have just sold yourselves to the Devil. I swear you did. And you roped me into it! Geez, Sawyer! I thought you were my friend." She huffed and her full bottom lip puckered into a pout. She sniffed like she was about to cry. Leelyn chuckled sinisterly when she heard their compliments and then her younger sister's words. She couldn't help but laugh. "Naw, hun, they didn't sell their souls to the Devil. They sold yours, Roxxy." She took her finger and prodded her drooping bottom lip.
"Don't pout! You're too pretty to do that." She chuckled when she got a snort in reply. And some indecipherable grumbling. She turned to the men. "What time is best for you guys?" However, she was interrupted from further planning from a considerably brighter Roxxy. "How are we getting in Leelyn? I look older than I am. Heck yeah, I know that. And you're not even of age. How ya gonna get us in? Huh?!" She snickered triumphantly. Maybe Leelyn hadn't thought that far ahead. But she was sorely mistaken. Leelyn looked at Roxxy's face, her expression stony. But she was just playing and it was easy to see by the smile that brightened her face considerably. She took her sister's face in her hands and said in a voice that reminded Roxxy of how a mother sounded to her baby.
"Babygirl! I'm bouncer!" She pulled away to lean back in her chair, her left eyebrow arched and her lips purse into a slight smile, the corners of her mouth tugging upward. Roxanna burst into laughter, but then abruptly cut it off to look at her, and ask, "Are you serious?" Seeing the "duh" look on her face, Roxxy sucked in air through her teeth and narrowed her eyes, putting on a grimace, "Eh, that one hurt. You. Bouncer. Not a nice thing to run into." She dropped the masquerade of expressions and looked at her sister with a barely contained grin. "You're dressing me. And you gonna have a lotta work ta dooooo!" She trilled in a singsong voice.
She let the grin out. Leelyn answered with her own. "Nuh uh! You been takin' good care of yourself....Just need better clothes." She gave a gentle, encouraging smile. Then, turning back to Sawyer and Alex, who she winked at again, and folded her arms on the table, her head up and looking at them. She flashed a smile. "Nine sound good?" She waggled her eyebrows at Alex and then turned and did the same to Roxxy, who immediately returned it and the result was both women bursting into laughter. Roxxy took the time to throw her empty smoothie cup away, and quickly limped back to her seat. She was glad her sister didn't see her limp, Leelyn's eyes were on Sawyer and Alex.

"I am your friend. Like you said. We're going down with you." Sawyer laughed with a quick wink. Alex nodded "Yeah." the two boys had evil grins on painted on their faces. "What's the worst you could do to us? Eat us?" Alex sneered. Sawyer couldn't help but grin. They looked at Roxxy "Maybe we should apologize." Sawyer leaned forward "We're sorry for selling your soul, Roxxy. We'll get it back somehow." he reached across the table and found her hand. "Maybe I'll trade yours for Alex's."
Both boys fell silent on the girls' conversation and began whispering among themselves about decent times. "Whenever's good for me. But wait. We still need to tend to our horses." Sawyer whispered tightening his jaw. Alex smiled "I don't care. Maybe we should stalk them all day." He whispered to where Sawyer would be the only one who could hear him. He frowned "You have a very sick mind, Alexander." he lay his head down holding back insane laughter at the thought of stalking the two girls.
It was wrong but funny. Sawyer wasn't like that. Sawyer only stalked people he knew couldn't catch him. Sawyer leaned toward his friend. "A better question is. What are we going to wear? I'm not going anywhere near a tie." Alex whispered. Sawyer shrugged "We'll wear what we can find. I got that department under control." Sawyer sighed. Alex raised an eyebrow "But you're blind!" he said surprised. Sawyer just rolled his eyes "I'm blind? Really?" he had a noticeable sarcastic tone. Yeah. He was blind! But he knew where everything was and how to do things.
Sawyer had kept an ear on Roxxy and Leelyn the whole time. He straightened up when they spoke to them. They looked at each other. Than at Sparks who was lying on Roxxy's feet. "Nine sound good for you?" Alex asked Sawyer. He thought for a moment than nodded "Yeah nine'll be fine. Where should we meet?" he asked
Alex held his breath "Sawyer...Can I drive?" he asked. Sawyer rolled his head around and gave Alex a side ways looked "Do you know how to drive?" he asked casually. Already knowing the answer. "Well....no, but..." Sawyer held up one finger "I'm driving while you explain everything in detail so I don't crash. Now your job is more fun than mine," he said proudly. Sawyer could drive, yes. But only with the help of his passengers. Lucky for Alex he was good at explaining things.

Blushing, she winced at the thought of what Leelyn would put her in. Something revealing. That was certain. She listened to Alex and Sawyer argue about driving and chuckled when they came to the conclusion that Sawyer was to drive and Alex would have the pleausre of describing the route so that Sawyer wouldn't crash. Both women snickered at the idea. Seeing both of their eyes on them, Roxxy blushed again. Mumbling thoughtfully, "Well...at least you won't be able to see me." She flashed Alex and Sawyer a grin. and then let Leelyn talk, seeing her mouth part.
"Hmmm...you can just meet us there. I ain't gonna ask you to pick us up. I hate to put people against the wall on demands." Her gaze flickered to Roxxy who hid laughter by coughing in her hand. She grinned lop-sided at her and asked in a honeyed voice, "Babehdawl, maybe you should get that cough checked out." Roxxy didn't even to bother to hide her hysterical giggles. She was remembering when she was at Docter Sexxy's office and she had totally faked her sickness just to see him. She had been 16 then and when she had come home to tell Leelyn what had happened. And the two had never forgotten it. That and some other pranks that ended in hilarity.
Roxxy was about to say something else when, Leelyn suddenly got up and stretched her leg muscles by flexing them. She looked at Alex and Sawyer and asked, "You mind if I steal Roxxy away? She's got to get ready for tonight, and help me out with moving in and what not." There was more than what Leelyn was letting on. Roxxy knew by that light in her eyes. There was something Leelyn had planned for her. She didn't like the feeling that this was giving her. Something else to girlie-fy her even more. She looked up at Sawyer and Alex. "Say no. The Devil will tempt you. You just have to be the stronger person and say no!"
Leelyn gave a malicious grin towards her sister. Oh, yes. She had something planned for her sister. But she was chuckling and Roxxy's resolve broke when she started chuckling too. "Alright, bye my lil' hotties." She did the thing most natural to her and leaned down to give Alex and quick kiss on the cheek. She stood back up and winked at him. "See ya tonight, Alex." One looked at her younger sister had her laughing hysterically. Roxxy was mortified, horrified, terrified. Leelyn. Just. Kissed. Alex!!! She had her hands in her hair and she was actually pulling on it!, her teeth clenched. "Leelyn Emmeline Holis!" She was in trouble now. Worry actually took it's place on her pretty face. She grimaced. She was never gonna hear the end of it. So, she shot towards the door, squealing, "Gotta catch me first!"
Roxxy watched her go and actually made a dash to follow her through the door, but retreated back to Sawyer, Alex, and Sparks. She gave Sawyer and tight hug, though her stitched shoulder didn't apply as much pressure as her good arm did. She pulled away, said a quick apology to Alex, and then gave Sparks his usual good-bye kiss in the dip between his eyes. Hearing the Corvette zoom past the Cafe, she cursed, "Dammit. I'll never catch up to her!" Then, she chuckled and waved to them. "Bye, guys! See you tonight!" Then, dashed/limped through the door. A few seconds later, her engine revved and she shot back the Cafe towards the red Corvette.

Sawyer smiled "I do wanna see you. But I am kinda scared at what Leelyn will put you through. Good luck though." he grinned playfully than turned to Leelyn and winked with a wide toothy grin "You can steal her...for now." he paused tilting his head at what Roxxy was saying. He laughed "Sorry, Roxxy. Can't say no, when I already said yes." he chuckled
Alex raised an eyebrow. He couldn't wait to see them again. They were so funny and easy to talk to. They didn't seem to care about Alex's past. They really didn't seem to notice it either. He was laughing at Sawyer and Leelyn. They looked like they were plotting something together.
Hotties? DAMN! He looked over at Sawyer. The look on his face proved the he was thinking the same thing. They were the luckiest guys on the planet. He opened his mouth to say something but froze when he felt something on his cheek. He searched the many possibilities before he saw Leelyn's lips.
S-she kissed him! On the cheek! IN PUBLIC! His eyes were wide in shock as he watched her face. He almost fell over back wards. Sawyer frowned "What happened." he sounded frustrated. Alex's voice shook more than ever but he wore a smile that was directed at Leelyn. "Leelyn kissed me!" he beamed. Sawyer cursed under his breath than whispered "Your first day here and you already got kissed! I've been here for almost a month and the best I got was a hug!. You. Are. So. Damn. Lucky!" he said between clenched teeth. Quiet enough to where the girls couldn't hear.
They both laughed at Roxxy's reaction. "Bye Roxxy. Leelyn." Sawyer said nodding to both of them. Well Roxxy was around his neck. So the best he could do was hug her back. He kept away from her shoulder. So he really just used one arm in his part of the hug
"Bye girls." Alex shakily waved but had a friendly smile. When they were gone Sawyer turned to Alex with an evil look on his face. "Time to go to hell, Alex." he snickered taking his arm and piratically dragging him away from their table. Sparks handed Sawyer the lead and led them away. Sawyer chuckling
