The day began like it always did. Sawyer rolloed out of bed just to smack his brother in the face...Again. Of course, he slept through the smack and just rubbed his nose and rolled over. That kid could sleep through a train wreak. Maybe even the end of the world.
Well, Sawyer rolled out of bed and made his way toward the kitchen for breakfast. The only thing that could get his brother out of bed in the morning was the smell of food. So, why was Sawyer cooking in the first place? He was a guy. Guys don't cook much. They eat. Another thing; yeah there's more! What was Sawyer doing cooking when he was blind?
Simple. He had a great sense of touch and smell. Plus, he'd been in Home ecenomics since he was in middle school to where he graduated from high school. Food was an easy thing for him. Along with riding his horses, Breeze and Brit.
Something big and fluffy brushed up against his leg as he searched the freezer for bacon. Sitting behind him was Sparks the German Shepherd mix. AKA, Sawyer's trusty guide dog. Sawyer's foggy brown eyes scanned the kitchen that he couldn't see. He knelt down beside Sparks and rubbed his shoulders. His fur was fine and long. His body was large and muscular and his tail that never stopped wagging. Sparks had to be Sawyer's very best friend. The dog was only two years old but had already grown close to Sawyer as more than just a guide dog.
He felt a wet nose on his cheek than a tongue. Sawyer shot to his feet rubbing the back of his hand to his cheek. "Ew gross, Sparks!" he laughed walking over to the sink and re washing his hands. Turning the stove on medium he got out eggs and regular wheat bread. Along with toast.
Sawyer was a neat freak and hated it when he couldn't find things. That meant they were out of place and somewhere Sawyer didn't know. How could he look for something when he was blind? Oh yeah, he couldn't.
He cooked in silence thinking about his horses and that girl he met the other day, Roxxy. Then he gawked and frowned. Catching himself thinking about her. He didn't even know what she looked like. Not that he really cared, but still.
He sighed and finished breakfast quickly. While Sparks watched with interest. His harness hanging out of his mouth. He knew what was coming when Sawyer ate that fast. Standing. He washed his dish and left Robert's on the table. His brother walked in with complete bedhead.
"Already done? Geez." he yawned. Sawyer grunted and began to hook up Spark's harness. Robert rolled his eyes than remembered "I'm rolling my eyes." he said followed by another grunt. Finished with Sparks Sawyer stood up. "Let's go." he said in a higher pitch. Sparks scrambled to his feet and took the lead.
"Alright, see ya." he said to his brother closing the door behind him. Out of the house at last. Sparks was in guide dog mode and pulled him around other people taking their morning walks. Sawyer smiled when they gave him the regular "Good morning." or "Hey, how are you?" and the more common with the little kids "Pretty dog." followed by the calm scolding of their parents telling them not to pet the dog. While they motioned to the vest and harness that said "Service dog: Do not pet."
It was a good ten minute walk to the stable. Sparks pretty much dragged poor Sawyer there but, still focused on moving around various obsticals. When they reached the stalls he took off his glasses and listened for his horses. Sparks beat him there and almost yanked his arm off when he jerked forward toward Breeze who poked his head out. Sparks barked sofly. While the black stallion nickered softly. Yep that was Sawyer's boy! His guide horse. His true guide horse who was well trained and responded to Sawyer in a different way than most horses did. Sawyer's gelding Brit was also trained in helping guide Sawyer, but if he had to choose one horse to lead him around the world. It would be Breeze.
Sawyer smiled "Hey boy." he said admiring Breeze's smooth muscular neck. For a stallion, he was gentle and responed quickly, but when other stallion's were around that's when he let out the beast. Sawyer ran his hands over Breeze's neck, un aware that someone was here with him.

From the moment Tatiana fell off the bed in a tangle of sheets and body parts she had a feeling the day would be interesting. Not interesting in a bad way, just...interesting. She couldn't put a name to it nor could she put a feeling to it. It was one of those good things though and she knew it.
After untangling herself from the blue and green sheets Tina threw them back on the bed. Tucking in the ends and fixing it till it was presentable. After that she hopped in the shower. Shaving and cleaning herself up. She didn't know why she didn't do this after riding but hey, she was weird that way. Or maybe that was the cool way to be. Huh, one never knows do they? Stepping out of the shower, Tina half dried her hair before pulling on a pair of jeans and a tank top. Before leaving her bedroom she grabbed a ponytail holder and slid it on to her wrist for later. She slid her feet in to a pair of white skater shoes and grabbed her watch and keys off the nightstand.
Tina stepped in to her kitchen and grabbed a bagel. Tossing it in her toaster oven she pulled out the butter and garlic salt and set them on the counter. Tossing her keys, phone, and wallet beside the sink. She walked in to the living room while putting the watch on her wrist. Tina walked to the glass sliding doors and opened them. Happy to see her dogs bounding in. She laughed as River jumped from the couch to the chair to the floor.
Tatiana smiled and going back in to the kitchen she poured kibbles in the two dogs dishes and put bowls of water down. When her bagel popped up she buttered it and poured the garlic salt on it. With that she grabbed her keys, phone and wallet and opened the door. Locking it behind her Tina walked down the street. The dogs following. She ate her bagel as she went.
When Tina reached the stable she smiled. IT was a beautiful day out. By the time she was ready to get Fly she had finished her bagel. Tina jogged down to the paddock and clipped the lead rope on the mares halter. She was a beautiful horse. She was sixteen hands of pure Warmblood muscle. Muscle rippled under her chestnut and white pelt. She was beautiful. A five year old and still in training for eventing. She was to be Tina's champion.
Tatiana led her back up to the barn and set her up in the cross-ties. She pulled out a grooming kit, two lunge lines, a surcingle and a pad. She needed to drive the mare a bit today before riding her. To remind her to keep her butt under her. Tina was about to start brushing the mare down when she saw a guy and his two horses down the aisle. She walked over to meet him before noticing his dog. she smiled hesitantly and stepped up to him. "Hi."

Breeze lifted his head and whinnied at the mare. Brit just nickered. He was a gelding and couldn't be that 'attractive' to the mares. Didn't mean he couldn't act like a stallion. Breeze snorted at Sawyer but kept his place.
He knew it was a mare, how could it not be. He patted his shoulder and smiled. "Stop flirting with mares, Breeze." he said keeping a firm hold on the lead rope while he brushed him down. His gentle hands moved quickly and carefully. His blind eyes unblinking. Sparks was eying the new girl and her mare. His German Shepherdy stare watched her every move. Sawyer was still unaware of the girl.
Breeze looked like he was about to explode. Here he was standing within feet of a MARE, and Sawyer just expected him to stand there like a fool while his gaze rested on the new female pair. Yeah, so his herd was a made up of two stallions. One human, Sawyer, and one horse, Breeze. That and they had Brit and the Minny furry, mutated horse that dragged Sawyer around with some odd looking leather bridle. Breeze snorted at the thought and nickered softly nudging Sawyer's shoulder repeatedly.
Meanwhile, Sawyer was in his own little world thinking happy thoughts. Different things popping into his head all at once. Well, he was blind! Blind people think a lot. Enough to where they won't get lost and run into everything. Even though Sawyer constantly ran into things when Sparks decided to be lazy.
That's when she spoke. A new voice, a female voice (figures). Lower in pitch but calm and collected. He looked up dumb-struck with a face that read "Are you talking to me?" Well duh she was talking to him. So far the only people that talked to him were women. Was he some kind of chick magnet? He was turning into one.
Sparks charged into his leg knocking Sawyer to the side. He stumbled a few steps 'till he stood directly in front of her. He found her voice and looked down, making eye contact. Super shy Sawyer stood there for a moment thinking then smiled his normal, warm, happy smile. "Uh, hi" he said his voice shaking a little bit.

Fly bobbed her head when she was set in the cross-ties. No she couldn't bob her head much but it was enough. She whinnied loudly in Tatiana's ear. Tina turned to face the mare, her hands on her hips. Fly just looked at her innocently, an expectant look crossing her appearance. Tina shook her head and crossed her arms. She so would not give in to the crazy, evil yet lovable, and demanding horse. Fly shook her head and nickered. Her tongue jetted out and reached for Tina.
The woman laughed and pulled a peppermint out of her pocket. she pulled off the wrapper and held it up to Fly. The mare took it in her mouth. Lifting her head high as she crunched it till it was gone. Tina laughed and tossed the wrapper in the garbage.
Tina looked back to her horse and smiled. River lay stretched out in front of the big mares feet. Her tongue lolling out. Cody was sniffing around. He was about to head in to a stall when he caught sight of the other dog. His ears flew up and his tail wagged furiously. Tina raised an eyebrow at him and cleared her throat. He looked at her innocently and whined. "No," she murmured and made her way over.
She smiled at the guy and after saying hi she covered her face. She didn't realize he was blind. Giggling quietly behind her hand when he jumped. Tatiana looked down at the man's dog while she stepped near him and stuck out her hand. "I'm Tatiana," she offered. She bit her lip as she looked him up and down. Trying to see what type of person he was from one glance. But she wasn't one to judge and she just needed to see how it'd turn out.
Tina looked down at his dog and noticed the vest. It said he was a service dog. Tatiana glanced at the guy again and at his two stallions. She wondered what his disability was. It couldn't be hearing. Maybe blindness?

When the other dog made friendly motions toward Sparks. The shepherd couldn't help but respond. He wagged his tail that thumped against Sawyer's leg. He gave a exited bark. Brit's head shot up and he whinnied. The poor guy was always spooking. Sawyer raised an eyebrow and knelt down beside Sparks and struggled with the harness as the dog squirmed around trying to shrug out of the smooth leather faster. Sawyer could use his cane that leaned against Brit's stall. Sparks could enjoy other dogs as long as he behaved. Why did he let his dog loose? Because he was a nice guy and let a good dog have his fun.
Finally he got out of the vest. Sawyer leaned the harness over the stall door while Sparks trotted over to greet the other dogs. Breeze whinnied to the mare again. He pawed the ground impatiently giving Sawyer the evil eye. Even though he knew his master wouldn't see it. His master was nice, but never let him have too much freedom when it came to mares.
Sawyer focused on her voice again. He memorized the pitch her name, the range. Just in case they ever had the chance to talk ever again. He'd know who he was talking to. That's when he realized that she introduced herself. He didn't know that she had extended her hand.
"Sawyer. Nice to meet ya." he said kindly, his eyes still blank and expressionless.

Cody barked excitedly when Sparks barked at him. He stood on his hind legs and jumped up, barking again. He wouldn't move from the area Tatiana told him to stay in but he'd be frustrated. Tina smiled at him as he wiggled along the floor. Now on his stomach and slowly inching forwards. "Cody," Tina cried in a humourously exasperated. She shook her head and patted her leg. "Come here boy," she spoke calmly. The red merle, australian shepard jumped up and bounded over to her.
Tina ruffled his fur and looked up at Sawyer as his dog came to say hi. Cody took the dog immediately. Running around it, trying to start a game of whatever dogs do for fun.
Tina looked over at Fly and saw her making horsey eyes at one of Sawyers stallions. She shook her head and rolled her eyes. The horse was an idiot but Tina loved her. Fly nickered to Breeze and pulled against the cross-ties for a second before yawning. That horse was wierd. Tina smiled and turned back to sawyer. She had her hand held out but when he didn't take it she pulled it back. She looked at his cane and then at the dog. Aww crap. "Oh my god, i'm so sorry, I feel like an idiot!" she exclaimed lightly. She looked at her hand and at Sawyer and realized what was the point of saying sorry when he didn't know what had happened.

What was she apologizing for. Usually it was Sawyer who had to apologize to people. He raised an eyebrow but shrugged "Don't feel like an idiot. That's my job" he smiled patting his gelding's shoulder and feeding him a carrot. Breeze didn't care for food. He nickered at the mare while tossing his mane. Showing off the muscles in his neck. Sawyer muttered something about Breeze being a "virgin for life." but he paused to take a firm hold on the lead rope and Cross-tying him.
Brit whinnied at the arrival of another mare. A piebald and the sound of a struggling Alex begging the stubborn mare to get her spotted rear into gear and walk. Sawyer looked toward the noise of his friend. Breeze couldn't care less about Pain being there. She was Storm's stallion. He was paying attention to the other. Still showing off.
"Having a little trouble there, Alex?" Sawyer asked leaning against Brit who was shifting his weight uneasily from side to side. He was a gelding. These mares didn't effect him much
"Kinda! Pain's being a pain today." Alex stuttered jerking on the lead while Pain just stood there snorting in protest tossing her head around showing flashed of her piebald coat. A beautiful pattern of black and white. But she was just acting so bad today it wasn't funny. She kicked Storm! Storm was her stallion, and she kicked him. Luckily it wasn't hard but, she clipped him pretty good on the thigh
"C'mon! Pain!" he grunted his arms growing sore from the effort. Sawyer was going through a laughing fit. But hey! What were friends for? All that was going through the mare's head was:
Why was her master trying to move her? Couldn't he tell that she didn't want to be moved? She threw her head into the air and snorted loudly, stamping a hoof. That other stallion was there. That big flirt. She had to kick something important. Maybe she would. To get him off her back. Storm would fight for her. That short Arab was her lover boy. She found herself taking a step forward than stopped quickly digging her hooves into the dirt. She wasn't moving any further. No way no how.
That's when that other human stallion walked over. The blind one. He stepped around to her rear and gave it a hard pat. She whinnied loudly and reared. NO ONE COULD EVER TOUCH HER BUTT! NO ONE! EVER! She pretty much picked her master of the ground and lunged forward her hind legs shooting out behind her. Luckily Sawyer was well away. His quick movements took him all the way back to his stallion.
Pain realized that the black Gelderlander's attention was on the human girl's mare. So that meant she was safe to be tied with him. For now. So she reluctantly calmed and allowed Alex to lead her. He ground tied her a good meter away from Sawyer's group of bachelors. And the little furry horse that made funny noises. He was playing around with another furry horse.
Alex noticed the two dogs and smiled. Bean was lurking around here somewhere. He put his fingers to his lips and let out a quiet whistle. A mostly black Dalmatian came bursting around the corner and slowed at the sight of horses.
He trotted over to Sparks and placed his nose in the Mutt's shoulder. For them. Sparks was top dog. He was so much bigger amd stronger. He was the alpha dog.
Sawyer turned back to the girl and her mare. "Sorry 'bout that." he said talking about the confusion with pain

Tatiana smiled and laughed humourlessly when Sawyer said it was okay. She frowned and turned to Fly. She could talk and brush her horse down, couldn't she? River followed Tatiana back to her horse. The black and white Border Collie plopped herself down beside High Flyer. Tina smiled before heading to the tack room. She grabbed her grooming bucket, and her lungeing equipment. Which included a pad, a surcingle, a lungeing cavesson, and polo wraps. Tina made it back to Fly by the time another horse and person had entered the barn.
Tina picked up a brush and watched the scene unfold as she brushed Fly's coat down with the dandy brush. She had to hold back giggles a few times. Watching a seemingly butch guy wrestle with an incredibly stubborn mare was always funny. When the new guy and Sawyer finally walked up to Sawyer's horses Tina smiled and dropped the brush. She walked over to the two guys and leaned against one of the stalls. When Sawyer spoke to her she smiled and shook her head. "Its alright, horses always come first," she said with a laugh. Tina looked at the two guys. "So how long you both been here?" she asked.
